Ok, I keep seeing all these references to Finley saying he could be a perennial pro bowler "if he can keep his head on straight." LOL. What's up with that. It started with MM. He was doing an interview at the combine and he was saying stuff like that. Almost like he was going out of his way to make a point of having that in his quotes.
Are they trying to send a message to Finley? Is he getting into weird shit off the field, or getting a diva like attitude or something? Damn. LOL. Then today there was an article in the GBPG that had at least 3 or 4 references in this regard.
Seems like EVERY time Finley is mentioned, there's this same caveat. So, whats the scoop on the guy? Any rumors? Anything specific?
Is he lazy? Overconfident? Is he down with the chronic? What's the scoop?

Ok, that's just two references. But it's a short article. Looks like they're suggesting that he lacks some focus. Like they're not sure he's paying the cost to the boss.

He just seems to be a guy who enjoys letting others know what he has done, or can do. We all want him to become recognized. But not recognized as a good player with a big ego.

Preemptive damage control. They're worried he'll get too big for his britches (he's had problems with this before, not that it's high on the list of concerns, really) so they're putting that stuff out there to remind him that they want him to keep his profile reasonably low.

Shouldn't be necessary, but the Steelers' recent troubles are making things like this more and more prevalent - I'm sure some of the personal conduct stuff in contracts will also get re-worked.
