I won't ask why you're digging so many damn holes. I only hope it has something to do with Westboro Baptist Church.

I don't have that many holes because I don't own a backhoe.

I would have them, but I don't own one, and the wife will not let me get one because my next door neighbor has one, even though I don't use it.

She thinks that is ridiculous. She doesn't understand, so I don't use his in the hope that she will come to the realization that I need one.

See why I hate him?

He dug his own pool. He has a 14 foot deep end. (He hired the pool installer people to do the shotcrete, etc., but that's besides the point)

His shed has a concrete floor. Mine is wood. He has a stone wall around his pool with a concrete footing. He has replaced sections of concrete where tree limbs have caused them to rotate out.

I have one of those sections that needs to be replaced.

I'm going to do that just as soon as I get my backhoe. :thumbleft:

(nice pic)

I was going to say I was envious of his wife, in that she allowed him to get a backhoe, but if you saw her, you would understand why I didn't go that route. As to pro athletes, I am very, very jealous of them...if they own a backhoe....like this  one.

Me....i wish i could be a famous singer. I wish i would have known i had talent when i was much younger.
The feeling i get when i am in front of a crowd......it's hard to describe. But i feel like i'm someone else. It's an adreline rush.
But pro athelete? Nah.....i never had that dream, cause i knew i wasn't good enough.

Like I said in my previous post, it's not about the money or anything. Of course, a couple of million dollars per year is quite a nice bonus, but it's the feeling you get.

There's nothing better than knowing that you're the best on the field. When you score at the moment your team needs it the most. That you make a great play in whatever way. It's just amazing.

If you are such a physical specimen that that you play for one of the top teams in your sport and get paid millions to do just that, you know you've made it. You can bring joy to so many people, while doing what you love. You have the platform and finances to do something special. Make a difference.

It's one of the reasons that I stopped playing soccer. I was still pretty good, but I wasn't the best. I didn't get any interest from big teams anymore. I still wonder what would've happened if I had gone to the youth developmental program of one of the teams that scouted me. Take your chances when you get them stuff. Although I don't regret staying at home, with my family at a pretty young age.

WHen I was younger, I envied pro athletes their girls and their money. (shrug).

Now, the only thing I envy them is their health care and being able to get this or that fancy medical test (see MRI/PET/etc) at the drop of a pinky finger.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Honestly does the life that a pro athlete leads, money, fame and fortune strike envy in you?

"pack93z" wrote:

Hell no.

Wallie died in his 40s. So did Reggie. Why would I be jealous of that?

Now a rock star, if I wanted to be anyone...

Their big stress is which STD they might get.

I'm going to take a guess that Walter's cancer and Reggie's sleep apnea and sarcoidosis wheren't caused by their football careers.

Then again, there's a big chance that your comment was made with a heavy load of sarcasm.

Moon died of drugs. Curtis a suicide (he was nuts to begin with). Mercury died of AIDS, and that's a damn shame as he's my 3rd fave singer of all-time. But Mercury packed a lot more fun in his first 40 years than I packed in mine, that's fo shizzle.

Mercury's parties were legendary in an industry that had legendary parties. You look at Motley Crue, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, those folks had crazy ass times. So no, I'm not being sarcastic.

As for Wallie, his liver was demolished by physical blows. I know I argued with someone before about this. Maybe our sources differ. White had sleep apnea because he was a huge guy. It's like the Fridge. He's not exactly going to live to be in his 70s.

Ever read about what happened to Mike Webster? Or heck, pretty much any of those linemen from the 1970s. Crazy stuff. The physical beatings he took drove him mad.

Football - you get your body beaten up to the point where years are taken off of it. Rock stars take years off of their lives by their own actions. Like geez, if you're doing to do coke and groupies, do the coke in moderation and have a doctor handy to check out your groupies. That's what Kiss did and that's why Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley never got AIDS, and they screwed girls in the thousands. Literally.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
    Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
    Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
    Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
    Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
    wpr (9-Apr) : yay

    Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
