in recent years we have avoided targeting anyone in the first week of FA, look for lesser names to start popping up as targets next week, don't expect any of those "targets" to actually sign tho.
BAD EMAIL because the address couldn ot be found, or is unable to receive mail.

I've been scouring the blog sites all weekend, and the only news I've seen Packer related is the Clifton signing, Montgomery and Giordano getting cut, and Kampman signing with the Jaguars.

Hopefully once the ball gets rolling this upcoming week with the second tier of free agency, we'll hear a few peeps out of 1265.

So what are our main needs? ...
OL, safety, CB, LOLB ... which order thou ...

we have no idea if al harris will be able to start, our left outside backer was a liability - not necessarily a need but ya wed like some improvement there. OL - ya enough said there 50+ sacks ... I like bigby but can see us getting a solid 3rd guy since we saw what happens when one of our safetys goes down.

I would expect the next signing to be a long-term contract for Ryan Pickett.

It seems we have some interest in William Gay.

http://packerupdate.net/?p=2754

Nothing is imminent, but the Packers are at least exploring the possibility of signing restricted free agent William Gay to an offer sheet. The ex-Louisville star, who started 14 games at cornerback for the Steelers last season, was tendered at the original-round level last week. So any team that wants to acquire the 25-year-old would have to give up a fifth-round pick in next months draft. Gay is neither big (5-10, 190) nor fast (4.6), but hes tough, instinctive and familiar with Dom Capers style of defense. Hes also a good special teams player.

Young corner with experience in the system for a 5th? Sounds OK to me, if only for depth.

We don't really need anyone ... if we can get one of those impact drafts like last year grab an impact rookie like Matthews and hoping the emerge of the Jones ... this team is off the chart.

We do in fact need a punter.

Al Harris will be back so I'm not to worried, Tramon handled pretty well last year and the year previous.

Who is this Al Harris guy? I do NOT want him on our team.

=) I think its a bit unfair to judge the guy by one youtube video, especially considering AP has done the same to many people in the league, all-pro players at that. No CB is really a match for peterson. Now i dont really know much about this guy, so i'm not here to defend him or anything, but saying you dont want him based on one youtube video seems a little silly.
