Quick trivia game:

Name the distinguishing characteristic that would set the Green Bay Packers roster apart from all other NFL rosters, were they to select Tim Tebow in the 2010 NFL draft.

Tebow would fit nicely in Jacksonville. As I have stated, (back alley, was it?) his version of wearing his beliefs on his sleeve irritates me a bit, but at the same time you have to respect his leadership and work ethic.

I haven't really followed "his version of wearing his beliefs on his sleeve" but if he's trying to push it on others than I wouldn't like it. Also I know already it irritates me how much attention he gets...

I mean all the focus seemed to be on him when it was the team winning... not him... even when the defense were the reason for the wins Tebow got the attention... and the always talking about him and at the Sr. Bowl 40% of the over views were about Tebow doing what everyone thought they were gonna get...

Where ever Tebow goes some fans there will be calling for him to be a starter unless it's Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees or some other big name in front of him...

I think Tebow could become an above average QB... but I'm not just he has the talent to become more than that. I think he could become a Jeff Garcia type but it will take a couple of years with a good QB coach...

Some team is going to take him to low to consider. What the Packers would do is take a guy that is a project in a late round to shore up the #3 spot and groom him for trade bait later.

Tebow is not a candidate for that. He's probably going to go in the second or maybe the 3rd round tops. He would have to grow to a point he would be worthy of a 1st round pick and how is that going to happen when he's going to get next to no game time? The risk/reward factor is too high.

What the Packers may look to do is get a guy in the 5th or sixth that could go for a 3rd a couple years down the road after developing the kid. That would be only if they don't see a player out there that could be a solid player down the road for them.

Tim TeBlow? Why?

We just got rid of a weak armed QB in Brian Brohm, why bring in another?

Plus Mike McCarthy already has his developmental QB toy on the roster.

(Complete with something written on his eye black, lol--see pic in link)

So make him a FB or even a TE. I don't care. Somebody will be desperate enough to trade for him eventually. I wouldn't want to draft him any higher than the 3rd round, though. At this stage of his development, he's not worth investing more than that.

I'm very glad you are not the ones making those decisions. LOL. Tebow as a TE or FB nice hopefully that was sarcastic

I would be open to it, but I'd much much rather draft a QB in rounds 5-7. Anything higher would be a waste for someone who would most likely be third string.

It wasn't, actually. Converting a college QB to a TE is hardly unprecedented (anyone remember Jay Novacek?). A few minutes ago, I found this article that suggests doing this very thing:

Daily mailbag: Tebow as a tight end?
March, 3, 2010

By Kevin Seifert

You sent a fair amount of a feedback on Tuesday's Tim Tebow post, to say the least. A couple (thousand) of you wondered why we devoted so much energy to a prospect our own analysts consider a second-day draft pick.

My own take on that thought: Tebow falls into a gray area that makes his draft status ripe for the kind of debate that makes this time of year so much fun. He's one of the top players in the recent history of college football, and he's trying to find a way to continue playing at the next level. It's really nothing more than that.

I would like to follow up on one angle we didn't spend much time on Tuesday. Brian of Winston-Salem, N.C., sent this observation to the mailbag: "I think his overall best chance at success in the NFL is as a tight end." An NFL model in that regard, Brian writes, is former Dallas tight end Jay Novacek.

I'm guessing Tebow is going to make a pretty hard run at playing quarterback before he switches to tight end or any other position. At the combine, he measured just under 6-foot-3 and weighed 236 pounds. His 40 time of 4.72 was good but not necessarily elite for a tight end.

Ultimately, I am sure there are some teams who would try him at tight end before quarterback. What about you?
