Many have talked about what a deep draft this is.

I say it is very deep if you need a couple of cornerbacks.

It is not very deep if you need a left tackle, because...well, because it never is.

Here is my rough big board for ALL offensive tackles, in my personal order, by round:

Ist round OT's:
Russel Okung, Bryan Buluga, Anthony Davis, Trent Williams, Bruce Campbell, Charles Brown

I'd throw Lupati in between Buluga and Davis, but I think he is a guard.

2nd Round
Vladimir Ducasse, but I think he is a guard, too, so call it none in the 2nd

3rd Round
Jason Fox, Rodger Safford, and Selvish Capers

I would just like to remind everyone that this is my big board, not where I think they will go. I have no doubt that there will be a crapload of "reaches" for this position.

4th Round
Kyle Calloway, Ciron Black, Jared Veldheer

5th Round
Sam Young, Zane Beadles, Ed Wang

6th Round
Adam Ulatoski, Kevin Haslam

7th Round
Chris Scott, Derek Hardman, Chris Marinelli, Matt Kopa

Drew Davis, Will Barker, Dennis Landolt - flyers in the 7th

Selvish Capers in the 3rd or Ciron Black in the 4th would be great picks.

I'm still in love with Gabe Carimi. Such a shame that he went back to school for another year. Let's see if his stock will soar up this year.

I wouldn't be all that surprised to see another couple of mid rounders like 2008 (Sitton, Giacomini).

Jason Fox in the 3rd and Jared Veldheer in the 4th would fit the Ted Thompson MO.

They could try to give up the 1st and 3rd and put an offer on Donald Penn

NFP-Bunting- Saffold now in the mix?

Saffold now in the mix?

Indiana offensive lineman could move up the draft board. Wes Bunting
March 05, 2010

One guy who continues to impress every time I see him this year is Indiana offensive tackle Rodger Saffold. Saffold is a 6-4, 316-pound prospect with 33 5/8 inch arms and has the versatility to play either the guard or tackle spots at the next level.

Saffold possesses a unique skill set as he has the athleticism, range and footwork to hold his own on the edge in space as a pass protector, but also showcases the natural flexibility to sit into his stance and anchor on contact. He was one of the real standouts this year at the East-West Shrine game, looking like by far the best offensive lineman in attendance. And to be honest, he could have been one of if not the best lineman at the Senior Bowl if given the opportunity.

Now, Saffold didnt drum up a ton of attention for himself at this years combine because he isnt a guy who will ever be confused with a workout warrior. Nevertheless, he was still one of the top performers in the vertical and broad jump, as well as the three-cone drill and short shuttle, showcasing impressive natural lower body explosion in both jumps and above-average coordination in the two change-of-direction events.

However, what stood out to me even more about him at the combine was his ability to keep his base down, back straight and head up consistently during position drills and fluidly slide his feet laterally when asked to mirror. Hes such a smooth, coordinated lineman and is able to really maximize his strength on contact because of his flexible anchor.

Therefore, when I evaluate him as a prospect, I not only think he has the ability to play as a left tackle in the NFL, but, because of his ability to keep his base down and redirect quickly through contact, I could also see him generating a lot of interest as a right tackle or even a guard prospect, as well. Nevertheless, the guy has the versatility to play all over an NFL offensive line, which in turn will only enhance his draft stock.

Now, in terms of draft stock, how high do I think he can go? Well, that all depends on the run of offensive linemen that go in the top half of the draft. But, if the likes of Bryan Bulaga, Russell Okung, Anthony Davis and Bruce Campbell all come off the board early on draft day, it wouldnt surprise me one bit to see Saffold make a run at the later portions of round one.

Overall, hes a talented kid that grades out fairly high in just about every aspect of his game. And to be honest, from a physical standpoint, he reminds me a lot of Baltimore Ravens 2009 first-round pick Michael Oher.

Its Mike IUPATI. Iupati with an i. How the hell can people still name him wrong?

But yeah, I hope Charles Brown falls to us, there's really no other prospects that we could have.

I'm taking Anthony Davis out of the "group of six".

He is the NFL draft equivalent to Elaine (Seinfeld) declaring him "non sponge-worthy".

Trent Williams has actually moved up in my view, and I am one of the few that have liked him from the beginning of this process. I would be thrilled if he was somehow there at 23, especially in light of the Cliffy signing. . It will not happen, as I am sure the teams see what I see. (Well, maybe not, but maybe big-hair Mel Kiper will)

As highly rated as Davis has been in mock-draft land, I semi-predict that he will be the one that falls to us, and I honestly think we should pass on him if he does. If he goes in the top 10, I will be a bit shocked.

I've watched quite a bit on all of them. We are down to 5, imo.

Any of the 5-- if left (subject to change after further pseudo-analysis and hand-wringing) would be my choice at 23. I AM factoring in our needs at CB, OLB, S and elsewhere, along with aforementioned Cliffy signing.

beast (3h) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (8h) : meh
Zero2Cool (12h) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026

Zero2Cool (18h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!

wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
