Thats the problem Shawn. We here arn't going to be quick to push the trigger. But people like the guy running Iran or North Korea arn't normal, rational thinking people. We are dealing with people like Adolph Hitler was.
And when you are dealing with madmen, you don't know what they will do.

It's like handing a nuke to a guy like Charles Manson in my view. You don't know for sure WHAT they will do, but you can be pretty sure it won't end up good.

Like we as a nation haven't attacked on emotion?

After not being able to find evidence of WMD, we decided to apply force any way.

We didn't use nuclear weapon, sure, but we sure in the hell used deadly force.

Yeah....and it was "all about the oil!"
Which always makes me laugh. Most people don't know that Hillary Clinton invested in an oil drilling partnership based in Colorado, Ralph Nader owns $250,000 in the mutual fund "Fidelity Magellan", which invests in oil companies, and the Kennedy clan owns oil companies Arctic Oil, Kenoil, and Mokeen oil. Extended Kennedy family members get approximately 50 to 100 grand each a year.
These are the same people that say it was "all about oil."

I still think there were WMD's in Iraq. Like i have said before, Saddam played "cat and mouse" with the (toothless) U.N. weapons inspectors. He wouldn't let them inspect certain places, then a week or 2 later say "Come on in now!" Does anyone REALLY believe he wasn't hiding something? THe inspectors SHOULD have said "no, we are coming in NOW!" But they sat and did nothing. Saddam did this over and over. If he had nothing to hide, i doubt he would have played that game over and over.
I liken it to a murderer telling the police "You can't come in my house now! Give me a week to get rid of the evidence, and THEN I'll let you in!"
But that's just me, I guess.

My simple and only point is their really wasn't substance to the evidence to enforce and legal action.. so we attacked on what exactly?

Emotion and your thoughts that they we guilty.. even without proof.

As much as "due process" has drawbacks, without it we have what exactly. No innocent until proven guilty, the government can convict without evidence.. is that really the type of society you want us to become.. militant almost?

Again point is, we reacted on emotion and our conviction that they were guilty... how is that any different than a terrorist holding their viewpoints?

Again.. Saddam being forced out wasn't the worst thing in the world to happen, but with all our might rules and agendas, we threw them aside because we needed to attack terrorism.

So, IMO, it just furthered the circular nature of them blaming us and we in turn blaming them..

IMO, if we had the proper intelligence and evidence, it would have been a different story.. we didn't yet it stopped us not,

And in conclusion, how is that any different than the "crazy" thought process of these "nutjobs"?

BTW... I mentioned not a single word about oil being the agenda... just trying to point out that our held opinion might look just as skewed to them as we think theirs are.

I know........BOTH sides of our government got wrong info.
I'm not saying the way it ended up was right. I DO still think he had the WMD's. But of course, i can't prove it. His actions are what I'm basing it on.

I know our government isn't perfect. But we have put the people in office that we have. So i guess the blame falls on us in the end.
I WISH i could get elected, as i would stop the Gravy train that these lifetime career politicians feed off of. They are never held to account for all the money (OUR money) that they piss away.

I am grouping us together on this deal.. not Bush, not the Dems, not the Reps... we as a nation threw aside the very core of our government...

We acted on our convictions and little more ...

How is that any different than these "crazies" with their skewed agendas... IMO, very little is different.

We have killed thousands on our convictions.. so how can we sit here and damn them for the same process?

Not saying they are right.. but we are guilty of it as well.

So what.. we preach to the world.. do as we say.. not as we do?

What do you want us to do? Be too afraid to do anything, for fear of being wrong? Letting those that hate us do whatever they want to us?

There were those that didn't want us to get involved during WW2. They even said the same after Japan attacked us. They figured it was Hawaii, far away from the U.S. and we had no business getting involved.
Had we NOT got involved, Hitler and Japan would OWN us now.
Tell me.......how many countries do you know of that got attacked by another country, beat them in a war, and did NOT take over their land as their own? Japan attacked us, yet we allowed them to remain a free country.
Yes, we are NOT perfect. But i don't remember any other country ever doing that.
No, we are far from perfect. I KNOW that. But we can't just sit and never do anything, can we?

I am really not trying to make the argument if we were right or wrong.. that is deeper than this conversation, IMO.

My point, is that our own actions were not all that different then theirs if you can alter your preception.

Look at it from their viewpoint.. we brought war and death upon them..

Again.. I am not trying to paint it as we were incorrect in our judgment.. just that we acted on our convictions alone.. no different than someone their basing a judgment off of their religious beliefs.

Then we have the nuts to tell them we can have WMD but you... your not worthy. Seriously... do we view ourselves that supreme?

Almost everyone in the world comes running to us when someone attacks them. We have put ourselves in that position though.
We are the "big brother" of the world.

And IMO, being the self appointed "big brother" of the world doesn't make us right either.

How do we determine whom is just?

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
