Lets see....bail out banks and industries. What does that do? Shows them they can do whatever they want, and guys like Obama won't make them pay any consequences. Yeah....thats just GREAT. Shows other companies what to do. Be careless, and what the hell, you won't have to pay for it!
GREAT for the country! And that does what? Puts us farther in debt.
WONDERFUL!

Wait... Didn't the Bush Administration create the initial bailout bill with no repercussions to the banks? No oversight.

At least this administration put some discipline to that process.. what little they could after the majority of the money had been forked over already.

I am not sold on what Obama has done to date, but placing blame on his administration when the damage was done isn't correct either.

Conveniently we have forgotten about the Bush era record debt eh?

IMO, they all have flaws.. just as all the countries issues don't lay on GWII shoulders either.. but expecting miracles in a year, especially when he was forth rite in saying that recovery will take years not months going into office.

The real issue, behind it all is that the system we once seen as pure as become dominated by greed, power lust, and lobbyist. It is freaking amazing they get anything done in Washington.

The system needs fixing... but those in power aren't the ones that should try and fix it.. self serving as they are. And we the people are too damn divided and weak to fix it for them. Hence the yearly circle jerk that politics has become.

So.....Obama comes in.......instead of "changing" the handouts, he keeps it going, thus is held blameless.
Guess we should blame Clinton for the mess it was in before Bush got in, right?
I mean, if no president is going to be held accountable for what happens on HIS watch, just keep it going and blame the last guy.
That's all i EVER see.

And Palin........she got the corruption out of the government in Alaska. I would LOVE to see that kind of approach in Washington. GO AFTER the bastards.
Of course if she got in and tried to do that, they'd just assassinate her so they could keep the government "gravy train" rolling.
I guess that kind of attitude is too radical for some. They think it's better to keep it going the way it is.
I'm 52......no children. What i don't understand are those that have young kids. Is THIS the "America" you want your children to inherit? One so far in debt that they will be paying 50% of their wages to taxes? Where they have NO frredoms because big government OWNS them? One where we have no defense system, because the leftists have dismantled our military?

I guess if that's what you want......

Cheesey, you gotta lay FOX news for awhile.

I don't understand obligation to party politics. They are criminals who answer to PACS or the silent contribution people. Rarely do any of them vote for something due to ethical opinion, because their votes are bought and paid for.

Nonstop had some posts last week about Americans stepping up and not voting for the lessor of two evils. I there were only an alternative.

The fact of the matter is that this Republic is in decline due to corruption, hedonism, and the moral and educational decay of the younger generations. And I blame the baby boomers. Cheesey what's the most popular word in the 60's and 70's? "Ear" after taking a big toke on MaryJ.

Last time I checked.. McCain's name was the primary in the election.. Palin was the running mate.

It wasn't Palin's ideas solely that I objected to (PC wise... I don't think we heard many of 'her' ideas).. it is McCain's lack of gonads to stand up and run this country on his merits and beliefs.. when he folded time and time again to get the seat.. knuckling under to the parties idea, I believed that there wasn't a chance in hell that he was going to step in and take the bull by the horns and make changes.

Obama talked a big game, and at times was able to stand on his own convictions of what needed to be done. I was never sold on his ideas completely, but at least he seemed cognitive about the issues common working America was facing... daily.

Yes I have children, I have a home, I have shitty insurance and because of me a high demand for health care high spending on said health care (Last years was just over 11k with Premiums)... I have worked and made my own way of this my whole life, worked my ass off the better myself through school to one day give my children a decent life and a healthy beginning to their lives.

I watch my income freeze under Bush, all the while energy costs skyrocketed and not a freaking sole in Washington seemed to give a shit... I watch my insurance premiums double and triple, while the benefits are diminishing per renew.

There was no way I was going to elect a weak minded McCain into office.. and I thought for the first time in a while I didn't believe an independent would be the right choice simply because he would basically lock down any movement in Washington because the fucks in the house and senate would stonewall the outsider.. even if they may have been better candidates.. we as a nation are on the ropes.. deadlock in Washington wasn't going to help.

Hence where my Obama vote came from... not that he has all the answers or I was 100% content with what he was selling.. but this country needed things to change..

So in the past year.. I have seen..

The Banks get regulated on the bail out money.. and repayment of those loans are coming back.

I have seen the gasoline costs come back to a level of almost half of where they were.. for me, someone that commutes 75 + miles a day.. that is huge.

I have seen a health care bill introduced... earmarked to hell through the senate and house.. and die..

I have seen Obama and his aids try and sell that this economy is recovering based simply on the stock market.. trying to ignore that 15% or better of the workforce that was working is living on our tax dollars...

And I have seen no movement on ending the Billions a month that we are spending on a war that we are never going to win or that the region will change.

So yes.. I am not happy with the progress that Obama has made.. I am disgusted to the ninth of the fucking bullshit coming out of Washington... all the while I know that my children are going to have to pay for my parents and my generations failings.. and it pisses me unbelievably...

But tell me that it is what I want.. I don't think so.

While trying to sell me Palin, whom would be nothing more than eye candy for the republican party.. not buying my friend.

Want Ironic.. we sit here and bash the parties to death.. throw fingers of blame everywhere..

All the while we could be agreeing that almost every stinking one of our politicians is dirty to some point and doing little for us, the common man.

We could be forming a union to start to make these SOB's hear us... we could be showing somehow that we the people have had enough of the bullshit.

But we won't... because we invest ourselves more into sports, entertainment or what not than trying to correct the mistakes of this country and those jackasses that keep feeding us the line they are working for us..

We have become in a sense slaves to our elected leaders and this government... all the while believing that we are totally free.

i'm amazed that anyone who calls themselves a conservative republican can actually like palin. she cost mccain & your party the election. she's a completely ill-informed, unprepared idiot. i remember my mom thought she was GREAT when she spoke at the convention UNTIL she was interviewed by the media...now my mom doesn't say much about palin. lol.
and don't worry, veg - i don't read newspapers & rarely watch the news. i actually research people.

"Rockmolder" wrote:

Yeah, because the media loves Palin so much... You kidding, right? Ever wonder why she sounded like a ditz when interviewed (especially the Kouric interviews)? Because they are slanted.

My wife and I watched her interview on Oprah and even though her voice is kinda annoying (that Alaskan-twang) she actually made sense. Lo and behold we find out that the majority of her media interviews were cut and spliced to make her look like a complete idiot.

Sorry darling, your research failed. Palin at the head of the State chair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Osam--Obama at the head of the State chair.

"Formo" wrote:

Try and find a politition that they don't try to "get" like that. Palin just makes way more slip ups than anyone else. I'd make a lot of sense at the Oprah show, as well. Why do you think that everyone who has something to make up for or explain goes onto the Oprah show?

Bush may have helped in putting our country into a record debt.

But Obama is only digging the hole deeper.

Palin only sounds like an idiot when she's on your mainstream media. Like Bush, she isn't the most eloquent speaker. I guess we all know that one's coherentness is directly related to their capabilities. Take O-sama's teleprompters away, and he sounds just as much an 'idiot' as Bush/Palin.

For the record, because I'm a Republican, doesn't mean I don't think for myself. Generalizing is bad, mmk? I'm more than aware of the corruption that both sides of the political spectrum 'dabble' in, hence why I go to all my precinct caucuses and nominate 'my' guy. You know, the guy that I tent to agree with on political/social issues. Believe it or not, there are Republicans I don't agree with (McCain and Ron Paul in some aspects are the two big named guys).

But, I guess because I happen to be conservative, I drink FOX's Kool-Aid and can't think for myself.. ::roll:
