Read the below as a clear illustration of what is wrong with our leadership today in this country.. talking out of both ends.. followed by a comment that couldn't be laid out any better...

Covering his political ass...

Gov. Jim Doyle said the state's economy appears to have started to stabilize, but he added "God help us all" if Wisconsin doesn't make close to a full recovery in the next two years.

Doyle cited slight improvements in sales tax revenue and the move of several large businesses and biotech companies to Wisconsin as he expressed optimism Monday in meetings with the editorial boards of Gannett Central Wisconsin newspapers.

The 2009-11 state budget signed by Doyle in June cut spending by $3 billion by eliminating 1,000 state employees' jobs, imposing across-the-board budget cuts for state agencies and delaying 2 percent pay raises for state employees. Without an improvement in the economy, deeper cuts will be necessary next time, he said.

"If the economy hasn't turned around in the next two years, God help us all," Doyle said.

There are mixed signs on whether the economy is improving -- economic growth has surged, but unemployment also rose, recently.

The gross domestic product, a measurement of the country's economic output, improved by 5.7 percent during the final three months of 2009, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported on Friday. It was the second consecutive advance and the strongest increase since the third quarter of 2003.

Doyle said state economists anticipate modest growth during the second quarter this year, but job growth will lag.

Unemployment rates worsened in December locally, statewide and nationally. Wisconsin's December unemployment rate was 8.3 percent, less than the national rate of 9.7 percent.

December rates in Taylor and Clark counties exceed the nation, at 11.7 and 10.2 percent respectively, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. However, Marathon and Wood county's rates are 8.9 and 8.2 percent respectively.

Although he expects employment will improve in the third quarter, Doyle said it could take four years before the state returns to the level of economic activity seen in 2007.

OXYMORON - Two Contradictory Terms

Gannett could have combined Doyle's Statements here:

"Gov. Jim Doyle said the state's economy appears to have started to stabilize"

& Here: "The 2009-11 state budget signed by Doyle in June cut spending by $3 billion by eliminating 1,000 state employees' jobs, imposing across-the-board budget cuts for state agencies and delaying 2 percent pay raises for state employees."

Also here: "but he added "God help us all" if Wisconsin doesn't make close to a full recovery in the next two years."
And here: "Doyle said it could take four years before the state returns to the level of economic activity seen in 2007."

I stand in amazement, when i remember that our state re-elected this clown.
I didn't vote for him. He, like most politicians, did what his own agenda was. NOT what the people of Wisconsin wanted him to do. I'm glad that he's quitting.
Hopefully we will get someone in office that has what WE want first, and his own agenda 2nd.

My personal belief....

"Those most ill suited, by emotional/psychological construct, to handle the power/authority granted to them by the position, are the very people who gravitate towards political office."

You knew them as the little turds/turdettes in H.S. who could never get laid, who lacked any social skill (hence the never getting laid!), and who viewed themselves as inherently superior to those around them. Incapable in most things, but adept academically...they live in their little cocoon and are at some point unleashed upon the world.

Seriously....look at these people and tell me I am wrong!

Er, well, by these criteria I would be at least a US Senator by now. Perhaps with aspirations to Emperor of the World. :)

(I was a complete nerdturd in HS.) 🙂
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I hate to admit it,......so was I.
But i NEVER considered myself better then anyone. I was too small and muscle-less to win ANY physical fight. So i learned to do my fighting by my "witty" put downs. Sometimes it worked......sometimes i got the snot beat outta me anyway. I was picked on ALL the time. But it made me who i am today!!!
