Getting him on the PS would give the Packers a chance to evaluate exactly what they have with Sutton. I guess the coaches/management felt they couldn't take the risk having Sutton as the #2 running back (and third down back), if Jackson is out for the first week or two. I guess this means DeShawn Wynn has made it - or the Packers might be looking at the waiver wire.

Prior to Jackson's injury situtation, I heard a few weeks back that GB wasn't going to use an exclusive 3rd down back. That Grant and Jackson would take most of those snaps since they were the best RBs on the team.
