I just watched the highlights and was mostly pleased with what I saw. It was not perfect. A couple throws were off the mark. The second int was single coverage and the DB played it very well. I appreciate that this game was against the 49ers. Love should have alot to review and learn.

Wow....it seems some guys here have their underwear on too tight.🤪😁
Really, a difference of opinion should be treated as such, just opinions. Neither right or wrong.
Cousins is good when given time. Most NFL QBs are!
It's when they are under pressure that makes them great or awful. Otherwise I'd call it "average" at best.
Uh oh.....I'm gonna get BLASTED!!!😀🤪

So, Jordan Love. I don't know if it's being fortunate with Favre and Rodgers, but Love release seems slow, or maybe not slow, but just not quick. When I see his arm open up, I can look to see where he's throwing it. Favre and Rodgers, it is more like oh ball out -- follow ball.

I think he has a longer whippier throwing motion, which is to his disadvantage, albeit I think he has a hell of an arm.

We all may recall that Rogers had a much longer throwing motion when he came in from Cal and has, over the years, shortened/quickened it quite a bit.

I was surprised to see him taken out at the half. I understand the rationale as regards the 1st team line coming out and wanting to protect him. For me, the cost benefit analysis leans hard towards playing him. He needs the reps, and so do his evaluators.
Play him !

To the mod: I'm sorry that I upset him to the point he's making violent threats. I was just trying to get him to stop trolling, when he clearly agreed with what I said, just not how I said it.

It's very unusual to see a QB be elite in one method (no pressure when compared to other QBs with no pressure), and totally average in another (when pressured when compared to other QBs with pressure).

As for Love, unless he starts looking like a starter, he has no trade value and we'll be keeping him as long as long as we have an active contract with him.

But in hindsight, it would of been nice to have another position player from that draft, though some of those picked shorter after Love clearly busted and already on different teams, or maybe even out of the league (Vikings and Titans picks)

Zero issue with the pick at the time and no issue now. And that's while saying I do not think he is the next good-great QB for the Packers. Who could have predicted Rodgers resurrecting his career in 2020? It looked like age was catching up to him. So, no issue with the pick then or now.

I don't think that draft class was all that great. I know there was a few good ones like Justin Jefferson and Johnathon Taylor.

Granted, they drafted up thinking they could get one of the WR's they targeted, I would rather have stayed pat and taken best player available per their scouting. But hell, I don't know what I'd have wanted with that 4th round pick (or whatever it was, lol). I just didn't hear enough hype about players to really make me think players were worth moving up a handful of spots for.

I'll have a better feeling about Jordan Love after the next two pre-season games. As I've said before, I need to see improvement. I couldn't care less about mistakes, but my thing is, are they repeated mistakes or is he learning and progressing? That is what I wanna see.

It's a shame Jordan Love is so hated by QB1, huh? (being facetious)

I don't think Rodgers has improved... Rodgers wasn't the problem, the problem was we had Mike McCarthy scheme and that scheme needs a deep and talented WR group and we no longer had the deep and talented WR group. I think Tony Dungy, whom had a similar offensive system with Peyton Manning and the Colts, nailed it, when he said it wasn't coaching fault as much as the scouting fault of not getting deeper group of WRs which is needed for that scheme.

Well, Rodgers has improved in that he refused to throw a check down in that system, to the point Seahawks didn't even to look like they were going to attempt to cover a RB unless that RB first got 5-7 yards down the field.

But generally speaking, I think it's more getting a better scheme and having the right personnel for the scheme you are running.

Also, I've been a huge fan of the wide zone scheme and Kyle Shanahan for a long time now, and remember saying if we get rid of Mike McCarthy we should get Kyle Shanahan, I believe that was when Shannon was with the Browns.

But this scheme seems to put more lateral threats on the defense, which makes it harder for the DL to get a vertical jump... and with the right play calling, makes the RB a bigger priority to take pressure off the QB, and let's the OL run block more (which generally speaking, they enjoy hitting the DL in run blocking more than getting hit in pass blocking), and helps the OL by having a better run to pass ratio, making it harder for the defense to guess what is coming.

I look back at this thread and could go back even farther but I remember saying we should trade Rodgers and get the draft capital for it and people slamming me for it. I said let Love run the offense and see what happens and people kept saying oh we will be one of the worse teams in the league and I said we would be good enough to win the division and get in the playoffs and if we lose the first game, so be it we do that with Rodgers. But we would have had a shit ton of picks and tons of cap space. And like this thread people saying try and get what we can for him blah blah blah and I said why dump a qb on his rookie contract.

Well look at things now how the praise is coming out from the coach and Rodgers saying how much Love has improved and thinks he will make a great starting qb (I say next year because Rodgers will retire this year, unless Brady does than Rodgers comes back for one more as he can't be 2nd fiddle for the HOF). I just find it interesting how fans views change so quick 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂

dfosterf (7h) : I addressed your generous trade offer, btw
dfosterf (7h) : My fleaflicker moniker speaks to my older brother like affection for Dave
Zero2Cool (7h) : Well, your clown ass has "dhazer" in your name. Genius. Unoriginal.
dfosterf (8h) : Was mentioned. I, personally, do not care for it at all, and would very much appreciate it if you would just go ahead and cut him. Thank you in advance ☺️
dfosterf (8h) : As to your acquisition of a qb, the matter has been discussed here previously. While some seem ambivalent about you having Trevor- something about regular season vs playoffs
dfosterf (8h) : It's all quite confusing
dfosterf (8h) : First Jersey confuses you with me, then you confuse Jersey with me, O hott
dhazer (14h) : ok shit I am taking down the marine my bad
dhazer (14h) : hell i am taking jersey down with guys I picked up off the waiver wire including my QB lol
Zero2Cool (16h) : You got all ya wanted and still gonna lose!!!
dfosterf (18h) : Logical? Did you really say logical? You traded away pretty much the whole front end of your draft to a guy that you definitely want talking smack up in here, lol
Zero2Cool (19h) : Why would I start a guy I skipped instead of the one I kept? Logical. Try it.
Zero2Cool (19h) : You ask me that question? If I would have started a guy that I could have picked on waiver or the guy I have? What?
dfosterf (21h) : Regardless, give me credit for getting a rise out of Jersey Cheese. He's talking smack to Dhazer, because he thinks he's me. He hasn't posted here in 12 YEARS
dfosterf (22h) : Higbee, that dog won't hunt. Lol
dfosterf (22h) : Ok Hign
dfosterf (22h) : As to you skipping Tyler Lockett, I got nothing. Maybe you should have slept in
dfosterf (22h) : Actually a pretty fascinating trade scenario
dfosterf (22h) : Go ahead. Punch it into that mainframe Cray that makes your cape look more better. Guarantee Tyler comes out on top of that analysis. I'm going on a mere hunch
dfosterf (22h) : You have to pay for expertise. In this case. It's a small fee
dfosterf (22h) : If you had to start one today which one would it be?
Zero2Cool (22h) : lmao what the heck man, another waiver pick up that I SKIPPED ??
dfosterf (22h) : Trade is up.
Zero2Cool (22h) : It was a jog through.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Alexander, Bakhtiari Practice for Packers
Zero2Cool (23h) : Bring it! I gave you two gifts for your scraps. What more from my cellar err STELLAR team do ya want?!?!?
Zero2Cool (23h) : You need your damn eyes checked. It's not even remotely close to that and it's offensive you continue to say it. I've explained it. Which NO ONE in over 25 years has ever had a qusetion.
dfosterf (23h) : So, let's come up with another trade
dfosterf (28-Sep) : But I am done worrying about folks personal preferences, so am done on the subject as well
dfosterf (28-Sep) : It may be an overlord, whatever that is. but to me he looks like he is catching it in the keester by a little black dog. so I remain unimpressed
Zero2Cool (28-Sep) : The avatar is an overlord. If you can't get that through your senile brain, that's you being an dumbass. Enough about it already.\
Zero2Cool (28-Sep) : CB Jaire Alexander suited up for #Packers jog thru practice Wednesday. Same for WR Christian Watson.
dfosterf (28-Sep) : It's just a one liner. 😆
dfosterf (28-Sep) : It's just a one liner. 😆
dfosterf (28-Sep) : Now we get to the true etymology of that avatar you roll with.
