I'm not sure we know what Joe Barry's scheme is yet. Since he's last been DC he's been under different schemes and one would imagine (or hope) he has tweaked things.

As for the shutdown corner in Jaire. When the Packers get a competent CB2 and Jaire gets more targets -- those same people are going to question why Jaire has dropped off.

If you can steal candy from a baby (CB2), why target CB1?

All the talk creates narratives, that then funnel into new narratives.

Good points Zero! Is Alexander that good, or has it just been so much easier to go after the other side? Time will tell.

When he says Joe Barry Scheme, I'm pretty sure he means the Rams scheme.

I'm also wondering if this enhances the chances we make a run at Rams CB Troy Hill, whom already knows these concepts. Though I'm sure he's smaller than. Gute prefers, as he seems to like guys who are at least 190 lbs and really 195 usually it seems.

I think Alexander was really good, because even if crazy is easier else where, usually you try to get your #1 WR some love and a number of weeks Alexander basically shut them down. And it's not like the other teams were stealing enough else where to win games often. Packers were 14-4.

I'm not intentionally trying to discredit Jaire. I just think as an offensive coordinator and QB you're target opportunities, not strength. Look what Tom Brady did. That's not much different than what happened throughout the season. Why go after a CB who is doing well when there are openings elsewhere? The Packers won a lot of games because a lot of teams don't have a plethora of WR and TE talent. I know that some Packers fans believe the franchise is wasting Aaron Rodgers career by not giving him three WR1's and everything else. The thing is, hardly any team has that and if they do, it's just usually for one season.

I think if the Packers land a CB2 and a decent Nickel, that's when we'll really find out how good Jaire is. And I think he'll flourish too.

If CB1 is B grade, and CB2 is D grade, CB1 isn't going to see many targets. If CB1 is B grade and CB2 is C to C+ grade, you're going to have a better mixture of targets. I think Kevin King was a liability every time he was on the field. I was hoping to see Tramon Williams be plugged in. Kevin King is only good for jamming big WR or maybe covering TE's. And that's about it. I had high hopes for the guy and his injuries lowered my expectations. Even with lowered expectations, he still disappointed me.

I was all over the place here so just to clarify. I think Jaire is good, I just don't think he's top three like some are saying based off his targets and PFF grades.
