I just read a blurb that the Packers signed Veldheer off the Colts practice squad.

Welcome back. You've been missed.

In reality he won't see the field unless there's an injury. Perhaps FG protection. So that's good.

I think he'll end up playing.

It's possible. I didn't think Snacks would play last week and I was wrong then too. It's just a guess and the fate of the world doesn't hang on my decision.

I'm not 100% sure about this, as the article confused me when I read it...

But reading an article about the Browns claiming a PS players off the Jets PS before the playoffs, it sounded like of they wanted the player to play, he had drive from Jets to Brown's due to NFL Covid rules.

If he flew, he would of had to wait an additional time period because he came in close contact with others on the plane... also there was some distance milage rule.

The article mentioned Seahawks are at a disadvantage, as they're so far away from the rest of the teams that even if a player drove the entire way, it's still such a distances that they'd have to wait that extra period no matter what based on the rules. (which, if true, I'm surprised Snacks didn't have to wait longer).

So don't take that this as fact, but their might be some NFL Covid rules that makes it more advantage to drive vs fly.

I didn't see anything in an article. It's a 6 hour trip by car. Roughly 400 miles. Of course this doesn't take into consideration any delays when driving through the hellhole known as Chicago.

Of course going through Milwaukee during "rush hour" might have added 10 minutes to the trip. 😉

I'm not sure why this response was directed to me as if it matters as to why he drove. If he drove, I 100% love it. I couldn't care less why he did or if he was forced. Screw the NFL and their pathetic COVID rules. If dude drove, I love it.

The guy has a shot at getting a Super Bowl ring, after losing with the Colts.
That, and I’m sure a great amount of cash.
A “win win” situation for him.
For that, I’d drive 400 miles!😁

Zero posted he’s positive for covid.
I hope he didn’t infect any other of our guys.
They brought him in to help, and now it might destroy the team.🙁

From the looks of it, he didn't come into contact with anyone and if a player tests positive it'll come from someone else.

I imagine they (the Packers and all NFL teams) have a protocol in place to test new players before they come in the building/have meaningful contact with anyone else.

Hopefully he recovers/doesn't have any serious symptoms.

I thought he was tested negative before he left Indianapolis? And that was one big reason why he drove up here and didn’t fly, so he wouldn’t come in contact with anyone that might have it?

It can take 14 days after exposure to test positive.

I salute Veldheer for his dedication to join the Packers as soon as he could, but a 6 hour drive while certainly tiring is hardly that worthy of a headline.

Well....they have to find SOMETHING to write about.
It’s not like the “old days”, where you read the daily paper and had to wait till the next day to see the “new” news.
Now they have to come up with story lines 24 hours a day, to try to keep people’s attention.
So I don’t blame them at all for trying to find anything they can to write about.
They want to keep their jobs, so if they don’t perform, someone will take their place.

Besides, no one forces you or anyone else to read it, right?
