2019 NFL Playoffs - Wild Card.
NFC 5 beat 4, 6 beat 3.
AFC 4 beat 5, 6 beat 3.

2018 NFL Playoffs - Wild Card.
NFC 4 beat 5, 6 beat 3.
AFC 5 beat 4, 6 beat 3.

Seems like Wild Card weekend is generous to the visiting team. Something to consider when looking at who Packers might play next.

First off, any idea what day the Packers will play their game?

Secondly, lots of people complained that it's unfair that Washington is in the playoffs and it's unfair... first off, they're the best team of the teams that played those division schedule that the entire division played. But really isn't fair as the NFC West and AFC North both almost got 3 teams in each by beating up on that horrible division.

But it's not about fairness, as noted that playoff teams (and I think this has happened to the Packers a number of times), have had to play on Sunday, then go on the road for a team that played on Saturday.

If the NFL was really fair, it'd be all the same conference on one day to give them the same amount of rest, in between playoff games.

It would be slightly unfair for the Super Bowl, as one conference would get an extra day of rest, but they both get at least 14 days before that...

Anyways, I always hated when the Packers had to play on Sunday, then play on Saturday for a short week, or were playing a team that got an extra day rest as they played on Saturday.

I’m kind of glad it isn’t Tampa that we’ll be facing next week.
I think it will end up NO vs. TB
And the Rams vs. Packers

A lot will depend on how banged up the Rams are. Goff with his bad thumb, if Kupp and Donald can play. If Donald is out, that would be big for our offense.

I would guess they would be the late Sunday game, which is what they view as the highest ratings slot

I hate that time slot. Less recovery time for the winner for the following week... as the other team would be playing on Saturday.

Agree, If you win on Saturday, you get an extra day. AND you can scout your opponent on the game the next day.

All AFC games on the same day. NFC the other. Next year, flip the days.

thanks....when did that start? It didn't used to be that way.

Regardless, the early game opponent gets a free view of most of the second game.

AFC 2 beat AFC 7
NFC 2 beat NFC 7
NFC 5 beat NFC 4
NFC 6 beat NFC 3
AFC 5 beat AFC 4

I don't think Browns beat Steelers, so looks like it was half and half.

I was surprised how close most of the games were this weekend. Usually there's a blowout and/or a game where one team is just on cruise control.

Edit:
“Nah. I like having the island. It’s pretty cool...not too many visitors”

I'm sorry for the confusion.
I was trying to say if the NFL was smart they would play all the conference games on the same day. The other conference the following day.

How is having the games played by day per conference smart? I don't see what the issue with how it currently is. Are we just complaining for the sake of complaining or is this way over my pinhead brain, lol?

AFC 6 beat AFC 3

Yeah, that was not the game I was expecting. Basically, the 7th seeds were useless and each other game the lower seed won. Wild Card weekend seems to always be littered with lower seeds winning more games.

Yes? A little bit of both? 😋 Lol

Things can be unfair, such as Ravens win a road game on Sunday, now they have a road game on Saturday, so now only do they have two travel days, but they also get less than 7 days.

Assuming the Packers win, then they got the advantage of a less travel day and an extra day of rest over whomever their opponent is next week, as they play more than 24 hours sooner.

It creates extra advantages and disadvantages by when a team plays, and it seems partly at random, which team gets this advantage or disadvantage in any given year.

I'm sure the difference is pretty small.
The overall difference in the 6th seed and the 1st seed is razor thin. The so called upsets this weekend show that. The extra day may or may not make the difference in a game.
Especially as Beast points out when the team that plays on Sunday has to travel.

Zero2Cool (14-Jan) : I dunno about all that. I just heard on the radio that contact tracing showed no concerns. I counted that as a win. :-)
Cheesey (14-Jan) : That’s good. If he did practice with the team, others could be infected.
