Don’t know if this deserves its own topic or not, but Danny Vitale just signed with the Patriots.

Fine with me...I was completely underwhelmed by his performance...not at all Kuhn like. Let's sign some more TEs and stick them back there occasionally.

Packers never used him right, he was a receiver in college and just used him a power blocker...

And when they did use him as a receiver out of the backfield, Rodgers either didn't look his way or could throw a good short pass... and Vitale at time got wide freaking open! (Partly scheme, partly defense forgetting about the FB and partly good route running)... problem is Rodgers would forget about him too, or forget how to throw a pass on target when targeting him.

Hard to impress is you're never given a chance...

Don't expect another Kuhn... Kuhn took years to prove his worth, and they tried to go with Korey Hall and Quinn Johnson over him before they realized Kuhn's versatility.

The thing is, Vitale had even more versatility and they never used it...

Vitale so should have been used as a WR and RB at least twice each...

Rodgers over threw Vitale and missed big plays like 4 games in a row. Could not connect.

a fullbacks primary job is to block esp in short yardage situations. IMO, he was well below average in this primary function...if you can't fulfill the basic function. the rest doesn't matter.

And a football player primary job is to help the team win no matter the stupid label you out on them, no matter how totally incorrect it is.

Jimmy Graham has always been a super large WR, but they call him a TE.

Vitale has always been a verstile H-Back but they call him a FB.

Labels are wrong, which is way you can't limited your mind to just the label...

Also, this just in, none of the NFL teams are primary a 3-4 not 4-3 defense anymore! Those labels are all false too, as all teams primary run nickel based defenses with 5 DBs.

I don't care what you call them or label them, Graham couldn't block well enough and neither could Vitale. I am not the one who labelled Vitale a fullback, he was acquired to be a FB (check the Packers website)

Irrespective of his position or label...neither got it done. Good bye.

I never claimed you out the label anything, I said "they", which is not "you".

Vitale was acquired to do as he was told and help the team in anyway he possibly could... not just as a blocker (as that's never been his strength as an H-Back /WR in college).

10.4

His acquisition, for the role he was playing, was a mistake.

Letting him go is not a mistake.

No, his acquisition for your expectations was a mistake... as you're expectations is rooted in old school football version of a FB.

His acquisition for being a verstile chess piece as some modern player are, of not fitting into a single label but being tweeners was quite good. He was just more H-Back than FB... but H-backs don't get their own label, so they called him a FB and that set up the wrong expections.

The kid got wide ass open with his routes as times...

Exactly, they had big plays waiting for Vitale doing a great job in his routes, as he's mainly a verstile receiver, but the balls never got to him...

Assuming his main skill set is blocking is wrong, more than his acquisition being wrong.

I didn't have him on my opening day 53 last season and people here howled at how wrong I was. He didn't do much to show that GB should try it again.

Nonstopdrivel (5h) : How did I not realize that J'Mon Moore was waived before last season even began??
Nonstopdrivel (6h) : That team is going to have such a huge advantage.
wpr (7h) : I'd rather have 16 teams than 14. Hate 1 team getting a bye.
Zero2Cool (8h) : Not a fan

Cheesey (30-Mar) : Would have made more sense had Geronimo went to the Washington Redskins......think about it....😂
Zero2Cool (29-Mar) : Geronimo!!
wpr (29-Mar) : Right beast. I posted the tweet on the JG thread.
beast (28-Mar) : In context, JG said the Bears were going to use him right, and TJ respond with that...
Cheesey (28-Mar) : Thanks WPR!
wpr (28-Mar) : "So... no blocking involved?" TJ Lang
Cheesey (28-Mar) : Could one of you post what Lang said? I don’t “tweet”. Thanks!
Zero2Cool (28-Mar) : 1. Goff- $36M and where is Rodgers 2020 cap hit? 10. Rodgers- $21.6M
Zero2Cool (28-Mar) : TJ knocked that out of the park.
beast (28-Mar) : TJ Lang made a great tweet about Jimmy Graham
Nonstopdrivel (28-Mar) : Like I said: mofrackers overpaid.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Randall Cobb hasn't passed physical, hasn't signed contract
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : @FieldYates The Packers are expected to bring back RB/return man Tyler Ervin on a one-year deal. Ervin, who was acquired off of waivers mid-season in 2019, gave them a real boost in the return game
Cheesey (26-Mar) : You mean the “Peckers”?🤪
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : It's a new team. They gonna finish better than Packers :(
Cheesey (26-Mar) : “Cobwoys”???😂
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : I am not excited about the moves the Cobwoys have made.
Zero2Cool (24-Mar) : Panthers look to be adding WR Robby Anderson ... I wanted him in GB.
Zero2Cool (24-Mar) : Postpones Tokyo Olympics to 2021

beast (22-Mar) : Also my friend (MEGA Eagles fan) said the NFC East division's CB largely sucked last year and the WRs in the division numbers exploded because of it
Mucky Tundra (22-Mar) : Fast turf to play on and not nearly as many cold weather games to slow him
Mucky Tundra (22-Mar) : Cobbs better off playing with a dome team down south at this point in his career
Zero2Cool (22-Mar) : Cardinals bringing back safety Chris Banjo
Cheesey (22-Mar) : I was kind of hoping Cobb would come back here. But way too much money at this point in his career.
Nonstopdrivel (22-Mar) : Houston way overpaid for Cobb. Three years, $27 million. Sheesh.
Cheesey (20-Mar) : Monica Lewinski just bought a Cowboys jersey. After all, she LOVES “Clinton-Dix”!!!😂
gbguy20 (20-Mar) : dix now with 4 teams in 2 years. 3 of which let him go. 2 one year contracts in a row. good player
Zero2Cool (20-Mar) : @Buccaneers · 12m Tom Brady is officially a Tampa Bay Buccaneer!
Zero2Cool (20-Mar) : @Schultz_Report Todd Gurley is signing with the #Falcons, per source.
Zero2Cool (20-Mar) : BREAKING: The Cowboys have signed safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix!
Nonstopdrivel (20-Mar) : The Bears will probably give lip service to Trubisky as the starter going forward, but you know full well they're yanking him and replacing him with Foles the moment he turns the ball over.
Mucky Tundra (20-Mar) : HaHa to the Pokes
Mucky Tundra (20-Mar) : packfanoutwest, who doesn't want to play for GB? I've seen both Eric Ebron and Robby Anderson make favorable comments towards GB Anderson
Mucky Tundra (20-Mar) : They clearly overvalued their own guys. Of the top 10 contracts on the Rams right now, 9 of them were drafted by the Rams and that's not including Gurleys salary
Mucky Tundra (20-Mar) : But outside of a few guys like Suh and Fowler, the Rams splashed those big contracts on the guys they drafted.
packerfanoutwest (20-Mar) : players
packerfanoutwest (20-Mar) : seems like a lot of platers don't want to play in Green Bay
packerfanoutwest (20-Mar) : seems like a lot of platers don't want to play in Green Bay
gbguy20 (20-Mar) : they never looked builtbfor the longterm in my opinion
gbguy20 (20-Mar) : hmm. when the rams signed all those big contracts over the last few years, it looked pretty clear to me they wete going all in with a very short window and that would be that.
Nonstopdrivel (19-Mar) : The was supposed to be "wpr," not "work."
