People are finally seeing how overrated this guy is. He never earned the reputation he was given by GB fans.

Packers fans? Try national people. That is what boggled my mind. Packers fans I get being optimistic and whatever, but some of the national people really threw me off.

yes, I especially recall the "great in the 4th quarter" but sucked in the first 3 non-sense.

I am afraid we are losing the "holding players accountable" card. If a guy like that doesn't see some bench, it a great unmotivating factor for other players

King really has amazed me with his inconsistency at times this season, one play he might look absolutely amazing (you could make a great highlight type of him, using only the highs), but then he'll normally shortly fall it up with a, WHAT THE HELL was that?

He's got great potential, unfortunately with his inconsistency, that's great potential for both teams right now.

As a clinical psychologist once said to me: "The hallmark sign of ADHD is inconsistency." Extremely high highs, but maddeningly low lows.

I mean, remove all the blown coverages and he's not THAT bad...

Very much a Jekyll and Hyde situation, unfortunately mostly Hyde lately. Once in a while he makes a huge play, but lately he has been a speed bump in coverage at best. He is often 5+ yards off of his assignment - why? After watching Kittle burn him like a gas soaked match I thought he would be riding the pine - NOPE!

I say they give other guys some opportunities, maybe Tony Brown?

I couldn’t agree more. But He has been in the doghouse ever since a sideline shouting match among defensive backs during, I think it was, the Oakland game.

He can’t be any worse.

I find it interesting, that when fans start talking about benching a starting CB, they go straight for the 3rd/4th string asking why don't we try Brown, Jackson, Hollman, etc skipping right over the 2nd string of Tramon Williams and Chandon Sullivan.

What is the CB depth order? I thought Kevin King was CB2 and Tramon was slot/nickel CB. Which left me to think Hollman or Brown is CB3. I really don't know though. I'm just thinking if the guy isn't getting it down, put someone else in.

Coaches see these guys in practice and I can only be left to believe the other guys are worse.

  1. Sometimes, there are great practice players and drill players who don't get it done in games.
  2. Conversely, there are 'gamers', and from what I had recall seeing when he played, Brown was a gamer.
  3. IIRC most of King's 'good' plays are in the red zone when he cant be beaten deep and his height become bigger asset.
  4. Guys get in the doghouse, and I bet Brown resides there, for items other than play

Well, they need to try SOMETHING else. Obviously the guys on the field aren’t getting the job done.
If a guy is in the doghouse, take him out of it and give him a shot.
That’s the only way you will know if what you have is any good.

  • And Brown has amazingly great speed and is very willing to hit, which excites the heck out I fans, but the guy also struggles a hell of a lot in coverage, which is while despite being a physical extremely athletic cornerback, he didn't get drafted...

Brown is extremely athletic, but like Jarrett Bush, he never comes close to putting it all together... so if he is in the dog house, then it's not just that holding him back.

I still can help but wonder if Brown might make a good deep FS, he's not disciplined, but he's at his best in zone coming forward, which a deep Safety role would give him. If he could mentally handle it, of course we got Savage there too, and need CBs more than Safeties.

Tony Brown is not in the dog house based on anything I've read. He's made the most of his opportunities, but also made some big mental mistakes (stupid penalties). What I've read and remember about Brown is he has all the physical tools and lacks the mental game and has an attitude. The latter of which is why he didn't get drafted. If a coaching staff could figure out how to give him a role that doesn't require thinking I bet he'd excel. How the hell do you do that though? lol

Perhaps a role like a Deion Sanders’ i e “get in that guys jock and take him away”.

Perhaps you try that on the other teams #2 receiver, you might find you have a player.

Then again I am not surprised Deion is openly discussing how he likes to get into their jocks

gbguy20 (2h) : lemme guess Kevin king has a hammy
Zero2Cool (2h) : Packers list CBs Kevin King & Tony Brown as questionable.
KRK (21h) : I am surprised Garrett is still employed. If things don't changenot, he could be gone tomorrow.
    KRK (21h) : bares
    Zero2Cool (5-Dec) : Possibly.
gbguy20 (5-Dec) : we knew what you meant. your point was still clear
Zero2Cool (4-Dec) : Oops, Smith was CB, not RB. My mistake. Etiher way, it was about the KR/PR not the position
    gbguy20 (4-Dec) : yep
Zero2Cool (4-Dec) : What do you mean? They cut a RB who was the KR/PR, so they signed someone who is KR/PR, who happens to be RB
Cheesey (4-Dec) : I don’t get it. Going after more RBs. We NEED guys that can get separation and catch passes.
Zero2Cool (4-Dec) : Tyler Ervin taking reps with the running backs at practice today. Ervin, 5-foot-10, 192lbs., age 26, once said he’s tried to model his game after Darren Sproles. Best 40 time was 4.41 at Combine.
Zero2Cool (4-Dec) : Put the Packers in a dome. They are a soft team. They need protection from the weather.
Zero2Cool (4-Dec) : Packers go on the road each game, -- I say GOOD!
Nonstopdrivel (3-Dec) : The biggest problem with being a lower seed is that, unless everything falls your way, you're going to be on the road for the entirety of the playoffs.
KRK (3-Dec) : He sucks, they can have him.
Zero2Cool (3-Dec) : Dolphins have claimed speedy WR Trevor Davis off of waivers from the Raiders,
TheKanataThrilla (3-Dec) : It might be easier to face Dallas on the road rather than the Vikes or 49ers at home
    TheKanataThrilla (3-Dec) : I meant 5th seed.
TheKanataThrilla (3-Dec) : Would it be better to be the 4th seed in the playoffs rather than the 3rd?
Zero2Cool (3-Dec) : Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has been fired.
Cheesey (3-Dec) : Seattle took care of the Vikings for us!
Zero2Cool (3-Dec) : We better not bring Davis back.
TheKanataThrilla (3-Dec) : I don't think it was a conditional 6th so yes we do
gbguy20 (3-Dec) : do we still get our draft pick or....?
TheKanataThrilla (3-Dec) : Trevor Davis cut by the Raiders
Mucky Tundra (3-Dec) : And they need Dallas to lose all 4 of their remaining games
Mucky Tundra (3-Dec) : For the Skins to win the East, they need to win out, philly to win vs Dallas and lose their other 3 games
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : Packers release Tremon Smith.
    Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : Yeah—in a random drawing.
Porforis (2-Dec) : At 33, I still could win a spot on an NFL roster.
Mucky Tundra (2-Dec) : At 3-9, the Washington Redskins could still win the NFC East
    gbguy20 (2-Dec) : definitely not
    Zero2Cool (2-Dec) : nope
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : Could we take this to the chat, so I don't have to keep refreshing?
TheKanataThrilla (2-Dec) : DeShaun Watson is quite the QB. Thank goodness the Bears to Trubisky
TheKanataThrilla (2-Dec) : Of course the Pats get the call
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : No blizzards. Just fog that flash-froze to the pavement.
TheKanataThrilla (2-Dec) : Were all those people waiting for Damarious Randall to show up?
gbguy20 (2-Dec) : 2 days of blizzards finally finished here this afternoon. no accidents to report
    gbguy20 (2-Dec) : hmm
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : What should have been a five-hour trip took nine.
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : No, I was stranded on the interstate for hours in the Pittsburgh viewing area as crews rushed to clear massive pileups triggered by flash icing.
TheKanataThrilla (2-Dec) : You missed the game NSD. Hopefully you were pulling foreign objects out of peoples rectums as an excuse.
Nonstopdrivel (2-Dec) : I'll watch it with you, sweetie.
TheKanataThrilla (2-Dec) : Anyone watching the Sunday nighter? I am afraid the Texans are scamming into watching a Pats comeback when I should be sleeping
beast (2-Dec) : I honestly wonder if the NFL purposely made it backfire to undo it.
    Zero2Cool (2-Dec) : yes
Mucky Tundra (2-Dec) : anyone see the Dolphins trick play?
gbguy20 (1-Dec) : the experiment has failed miserably plus backfired
gbguy20 (1-Dec) : should just be done after this year
