You remember when Rodgers completed 24-of-35 passes for 333 yards and five touchdown passes against zero interceptions, good for a 138.5 passer rating against the Chiefs a few years ago? PFF graded him quite poorly there.

I would rather the Rodgers who dink and dunked vs Chiefs than the one who aired it out ~20 times vs the Lions.

That is a damn shame that they are defending that crap plan and execution. When your plan has a success rate of 0%, find something else.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
If something isn’t working, you need to try something else.
If the long ball isn’t working, try quick short passes.

Apologist here.....I finally got the chance to watch the game.
• Yes, Rodgers was off in first half.
• He left 14 points on the field
• Notwithstanding the foregoing
• There were 3 drops
• None of those passes were interceptions
• He made 3 fantastic thread the need throws which only a couple of QB could have made.

One the ways you analyze things is to see what happened in those mistakes:

All the major missed were touch passes
His touch accuracy has not been as good (which had been astronomical) since the broken collar bone
NONE OF THOSE PASSES WERE INTERCEPTED. Yes, I know I repeated this point, because it is the most important point.
In the second half, he stopped dicking around and and fired the ball most of the time and he was terrific....great throws (one miss) and great decision making. The interception had the effect of a net 60 yard punt on a third and 20 situation. Rodgers of 2 years ago doesn't make that throw which, IMO, was the right decision. That is one of the flawed aspects of the QBR and PFF ratings...they measure that the same way they would a int on a 2nd and 1.
• I suggest some of you folks actually count the missed throws by a Brady, Cousins, Brees, et al and use the same level of critical analysis you use on Rodgers.Further, I disagree with those of you who thought is was a bad game plan. Had Rodgers hit those and receivers not dropped those, they would have been up by at least 7 at the half.I do not disagree if the criticism is focused on the running game plan...I did not see any whams, traps etc., which were so effective against Minnesota. It is moronic to run the two tight end, 2 wide out, 1 back set on short yardage. It limits the blocking assignment options and lets the interior defensive linemen tee off. A couple of our guys get destroyed on that set. STOP IT ALREADY. Also, I would like to see a tight end in the backfield occasionally used as a fullback. Also, you could shift him up to the wing/tight slot to enable more blocking possibilities.

The Green Bay Packers started the decade just ended with a Super Bowl victory.
Packers nation had a lot to be excited about for most of that decade.
Today, the beginning of a new decade, the Packers are in the playoffs once again.
Except at the start of the new decade, based on Rodgers play this season, we as fans can no longer expect Rodgers to shoulder the load.
If he puts up another game like he did in Detroit in the playoffs, the Rodgers window has most likely slammed shut.

I rarely watch NFL games that the Packers aren’t in. So it’s hard for me to judge Rodgers against other QBs.
I really don’t know how many passes are missed by other NFL QBs.

Yes, Rodgers made some throws only handful of people can make. Thus, gives understanding to some of us who say "he is missing throws he shouldn't miss" tons of frustration. Remember when James Jones would make incredible or impossible catches but drop the 5 step button hooks or other routine catches? Same principle here. If you can do THAT, why can't do the simple things?

Regarding the game plan. Absolutely. If Rodgers hits on half of them, we are talking about a blow-out. Shit, maybe LaFleur was treating this as an exhibition game where yeah you want to win, but let's practice the shit out of our deep ball passing?

I saw mention of the interception. That was an under-thrown ball.

Something Mason Crosby said that has stuck out and I just remembered. Crosby said kicking in that dome is always tricky. I wonder if their some weird wind paths because of the vents or something? I'm probably over analyzing, but that comment has stuck with me. I mean, it's a freaking dome, how can it be tricky?

The old Astrodome had wind currents. The league had to issue a warning to Houston. They would turn the OF blowers on high when the opposition was batting and turn the blowers behind home plate on when they were up to bat. There was not any proof that it mattered so no fines were issued.

Coach LaFleur was asked about the over throws today. He says natural reaction when you look back for the ball is you slow down. He says they coach the players to keep their arms pumping and said that is part of the reason why some of the passes were over thrown. Apparently LaFleur is in the "Apologists" group. 🤣🤣

Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Zach Wilson to Broncos.
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Gutekunst says he'd love to have 13 or 14 picks. He's trading back huh lol
beast (22-Apr) : Someday we'll have a draft betting scandal
beast (21-Apr) : Sometimes looking extremely amazing, sometimes looking extremely lost
beast (21-Apr) : I haven't looked into the QBs, but some have suggested Maye has some of the most extremely inconsistent tape they've seen
beast (21-Apr) : Well it also sounds like Patriots are listening to trade offers, not that seriously considering any, but listening means they aren't locked
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Maye needs to be AFC
Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Vikings HC joked that he may or may not have sent flowers to Bob Kraft. That's where rumor came from.
beast (21-Apr) : Can't tell if this is real or BS, but some rumors about a possible Patriots/Vikings trade for #3 overall
dfosterf (21-Apr) : One playbook to my knowledge. I was shooting for facetious.
beast (20-Apr) : I'm not sure they have different playbooks for different OL positions, and Dillard run blocking is supposedly worse than his pass blocking..
dfosterf (19-Apr) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
dfosterf (19-Apr) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.
beast (18-Apr) : OT Dillard has been absolutely horrible... like OG Newman levels
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.
