The guy's job was probably trying top block the punt. If his job was to not hit the kicker why take the chance and even rush.

I’m just getting tired of stupid mistakes killing our team. So I admit I’m getting ticked off and have a much shorter fuse then normal.
I hate to admit that the Packers stink this year. I really thought they would bounce back from last season. Instead, it seems they are stuck in neutral.
They are their own worst enemy.

So McCarthy is in a lose lose situation. He is condemned for not reigning in his diva QB and if he does reign him in he will be condemned for holding back the best QB in the game. I can't think of any coach in recent history that would be hired somewhere else as quickly as Mike McCarthy would be if he were fired. I mean fired for not being a good coach. Obviously a guy like Bellichick would be hired quickly as well but no one is calling for him to be fired. If Mike McCarthy were fired today I bet three more coaches would be fired within the hour and those teams would be lining up to hire McCarthy.

Other than that, he needs to understand how to motivate them, yet keep them loose, so they can get in the zone and perform at a high level.

Like I said, Mike has no grasp whatsoever about sports psychology. He's just out there with his textbook, pointing at the pages.

The media tries to shove this narrative about Mike McCarthy like hes a top great coach. To me, hes not jeff fisher bad but hes not even on andy reids level. Reid won games with mediocre qbs, Mike McCarthy would be a 3 to 4 win coach every season without an elite qb.

On the other hand the chances of a roughing call are pretty slim as well.

That is one reason why I don't get so worked up over stuff like this. Sometimes there is a fine line between a stupid mistake and a great play. If he blocks it he is a hero instead he is the goat. Same with Monty last week if he doesn't fumble few are complaining and if he brings it out to the 40 (or even better) no one is complaining. You will still have some people saying it was a poor decision (which it certainly was) but he is going to be forgiven if it works out. Certainly we wouldn't have had the uproar and calls for his head like we did.

I guess if you are passionate you are going to let people know and its going to bother you a lot more. I've learned to temper my anger and frustration but as a result I must say I have lost a bit of interest as well. I work every other Sunday so I can't watch all the games even if I wanted to and I don't have cable or any other way of watching on my TV so even if I have off I am forced to try to find a streaming option. I saw maybe half the game trying to locate a decent one and when I couldn't I said screw it and just followed the play by play on nfl.com (or was it espn? I don't recall.) Anyway, since my nephews started playing Pee Wee football 4 years ago the NFL and, sadly, even the Packers have lost a lot of their appeal.

The defense even stopped the Pats after that horrible penalty. But the good field position was gone.
This team keeps beating itself.
Montgomery last week, the penalty and Jones fumble this week.
They keep coming up with ways to lose them ways to win.
Just frustrating, that’s all.

the offense is easy to read to the point fans can call the plays at the comfort of their couch.

YES.
What was the guys JOB? DONT HIT THE KICKER!!!
So what did he do?
HIT THE KICKER!
Did the ref blow the call? I’m not so sure of that. Watching the replay, he DID hit the kickers plant leg.
Did the Packer player cause the penalty? YES.
Your team is set up to get great field position, and your defense made a great stop, and you put your team against the wall because of a boneheaded play.
So I got angry. I called the guy an idiot.
Sue me.

Fact is, you don't know what the hell is going on so maybe you should take that into account before acting like you know everything with this name calling business.

We ALL need to understand we are NOT NFL coaches and haven't a damn clue of the flow of the game or anything of the sort. It's easy to micromanage from the comfort of our chairs.

What most likely happened is the Patriots gave the Packers a look that they felt they could exploit. Players are often told if you see this, do this, if not, go default. Maybe they saw something on film they wanted to take advantage of and it failed? So what. They tried and ran into the punter and the official over penalized the Packers. It happens.

I really wish my life issues were so insignificant that I could get as angry as some of you over things you don't even know. And let me tell you, it is OKAY to not know, but to get enraged and name call as if you're better than them? As if you KNOW better than them? That's just plain ... wrong.

I just hope you all can find happiness. It's going to be OK. The sun is still shinning.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
