I know but others seem to think that Ted is something special in that regard.

Our GM isn't special at all. He's an odd duck who had the great fortune of Aaron Rodgers falling to him in the draft. That one single act set in motion all the things that are so humorous to read.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Our GM has faults like all GMs do but he also has talents that some do not. I think he is special in that he is better than almost all the others at doing his job but I don't think he is special in that he is the only one who can do it. I also admit he has made mistakes, most fans do.

You are holding it against him that he is and odd duck (personal opinion but yeah, he sort of is) who had Aaron Rodgers fall to him in the draft and only begrudgingly give him credit for anything. This has been one of the winningest teams in the league since he has been here and you attribute it pretty much solely to the fact that he was lucky enough to be able to draft Aaron Rodgers. There are very few GMs who have put together a team like he has. A team that the vast majority of people, Packers fans and non fans alike, think is pretty damned good (we can probably discount what most Bears and vikings fans think) It is difficult for us to accept your opinion because while it is shared by a few it is shared by a very few. You make it doubly difficult due to the insulting way in which you insist the majority of us are wrong and you and the rest of the minority are right.

I realize that the majority opinion is not always right but in a case where it is such an overwhelming majority and it is an opinion that is shared by so many without a vested interest (non Packer fans) I just don't see how you can discount it which you repeatedly do. I happen to think Citizen Kane, The Godfather and Pulp Fiction were bad movies and nothing anyone says will change my mind but the fact that the overwhelming majority of people disagree with me does kind of make me wonder if there is something I am not getting and I do not insult the intelligence those who disagree with me.

They will re-sign Mike Daniels. If it takes and 11th hour increase 48 hours before the start of free agency, then Ted Thompson will do that. He's shown willingness throughout his tenure to overpay for players that have come up through the system. A.J. Hawk and Sam Shields spring to mind. For everyone who thinks Thompson is unpredictable, he does have a pretty straightforward philosophy. Draft, Develop, & Retain.

Mike Daniels is exactly what Ted Thompson is all about. All 6-foot of him.

This quote by McGinn is just to get people talking.
