I'm hammered? Your the one that couldnt remember your own statement from 10 minutes ago. I'm not trying to hammer you, you're a fellow packer fan. Flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood. I happen to consider Ted Thompson a top 3 GM in the league and I truly want to hear your replacement ideas.

Sure. That is why Derek Sherrod is still here.

Add Perry and Hayward and a few other guys to the mix. They can't stay on the field but they are still here so I have to think its more than just the fact that Worthy can't stay on the field. If guys are cut just because they couldn't stay on the field Ted would be axing players left and right.

The fact that he isn't doing that tells me that there must be another reason involved. That may be part of it but with all the injuries sustained by Packers draft picks over the last few years Ted seems to be showing great patience by keeping them around. They must be showing something that he failed to see in Worthy for him not to be moving on from them.

Or maybe Belichek saw something in Worthy that no other GMs saw in the others. Maybe Ted traded Worthy because he actually got an offer for him.

I wonder what other teams would/wouldn't offer for Perry?

DONE...GONE.... is absolutely correct. Was Worthy a Packer when I posted DONE...GONE? Nope. Not insinuated nor implied he was released. DONE in Green Bay GONE to New England.

I do admire your ability to "never give up on a play" no matter how badly it's going to turn out for you. You keep throwing some pitiful interceptions but keep on chucking the ball up only to be picked again. This one went the other way for 6.

Now I am not going to get on you because technically he wasn't released but I just wanted to show you, like you asked, where you stated he was released. OK technically you didn't say "he was released" but you did say Ted Thompson releases a guy which pretty pretty much means the same thing. You didn't insinuate or imply he was released you pretty much flat out said it.

Nitpicking and a lame attempt at adding a bit of levity to the thread aside maybe you shouldn't have said released but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what you meant. He is gone, pending the physical, which means Ted Thompson has given up on him. He may or may not have been retained if the opportunity to get something in return for him had not presented itself but Ted Thompson probably would not have traded him if he felt confident he could still become a productive member of the team.

What that says about Ted Thompson and his opinions on injured players in general or Worthy in particular I really don't know but it may represent a bit of a change in his attitude. Maybe he won't hold on to oft injured guys so long any more. Maybe two years is enough for him to make up his mind now, or maybe it was just an individual decision regarding Worthy with nothing else to be read into it.

They may not all be jettisoned in 2 like Worthy but I think the leashes may be a bit shorter. On top of that if the offer comes up to get something for a guy you don't have a whole lot of confidence in you would be foolish not to take advantage.
