A woman has waited nearly 40 years to get packers season tickets.

Now, she's finally off the waiting list thanks to the south endzone expansion and addition of 7,000 seats.

Irene Larson, 71, and her late husband - put their names on the Packers season ticket waiting list in 1974.

"His co-workers, someone had tickets to sell," she said. "They had seats. Sometimes we would buy from them. They encouraged us to put our name on the list."

An avid fan - with many green and gold mementos in her home - she's been at most games for the past 20 years, behind concession stands volunteering, but was optimistic someday she'd have a seat to call her own.

"Oh, I anticipated it because quite a few years ago, they did that survey talking about the expansion and what to add," Larson said.

She has kept her post cards over the years, letting her know where she stands on the Packers season tickets waiting list. The last one she got was in 2012 when she found out she was number 1,022 on the list. Then in January, she got a letter saying the wait was over.

"I thought, ‘What is this?' and then it dawned on me. It said we were offered the seats, and it indicated how much the seats would cost," Larson said.

She will divide up her four tickets to some games between her three children and six grandchildren but already knows which one she definitely wants to attend.

"Probably that game Nov. 4 will be an exciting one for me to go to," Larson said. "I believe that's the Bears."

Her husband, Lars, passed away several years ago. She says he always wanted to be a season ticketholder.

"It was a dream he had," Larson said. "He'd be going to all of them, I'm sure.
