The North End Zone is very sacred real estate in the most historic venue in professional sports. As you all know there are only five retired numbers there, 14, 3, 15, 66 and 92.

There are only five names. Hudson, Canado, Starr, Nitchke and White.

My opinion is less is best. The Pro Football Hall Of Fame is already diluted, and I would not want to see the North End Zone diluted as well.

This brings me to my point. The drafting of Number 12, the development, and progression of Number 12 combined with the events on and after March 4th 2008 when Number 4 retired may have changed that End Zone for the rest of time.

Less Is Best.

If Aaron did not drop that fateful draft day in 2005 I think there would have been a sixth number up there already.

Barring a catastrophic event Number 12 will have earned that piece of sacred Real Estate over Number 4 by Feb not even counting on what HE WILL accomplish in the five years following this season. So, based on the Less Is Best philosophy the Packers may have to re classify and say retiring number four is no longer on hold at this time.

I don't think number 4 earned a place up with the greats and shouldn't be considered. Arnie Herber lead the team to 3 consecutive titles and he isn't up there.

If you don't count '93. '99, '00, '05 and '06 I would say he did earn it. But you can't ignore those years. You also can't ignore his choking out of the playoffs 9 times, Lions gate, fake un-retiring to put the team up against the cap and over the roster limit in order to force a free release and sticking it to the team and the fans.

Let him go into the NFL HOF and let his number go up on the ROH. The the North Wall is for true greats. Keep it pure.

Compared to Bart Starr, Don Hutson, Reggie White, Ray Nitchke and Tony Canadeo, I don't think Favre deserves to be up there.

The reason Favre is not up there now is because of his own actions from '05-'10. That has nothing to do with Rodgers' greatness. If he had retired after the '04 season, I bet he would be up there. Even if the Packers won a Super Bowl with Rodgers in '05.

Brett Favre will go into the Packer Hall of Fame, and The NFL Hall of Fame,
50/50 chance right now whether he will have his number retired and placed with the best of the best in Lambeau.

Aaron Rodgers has a lot more work to do to be considered for the Ring of Honor, and I hope when it is all said and done both him and Brett have the body of work to belong.
