Meaning, in theory, a team potential could get said coach for cheaper than normal, just like a Packers got Whitney Merciless for Vet minimum, because his contract with the Texans was guaranteed for last year, and any money he earned with a different team was offset.
Of course, coaches can always say, pay me minimum for this year and double for the years he's not under contract with another team.
And generally speaking, I assume he means we'll have to pay him a lot more than a rookie ST coordinator... but hey, someone with that type of resume might be average for them.
