A week after the Packers signed Mack, he’s now gone and replaced by a defensive lineman with substantial NFL experience. With linebacker Krys Barnes ’ promotion to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday’s week one game, the Green Bay Packers  had an empty spot on their practice squad. On Wednesday, they filled that spot and made another swap to adjust the squad ahead of their week two matchup with the Detroit Lions .
Gone is defensive tackle Daylon Mack , who signed with the team just a week ago. Mack was not one of the two players elevated to the 53-man roster as the Packers kept just four defensive linemen on the gameday roster. With that move opening up a second free spot on the practice squad, the Packers then filled the two spots by signing defensive tackle Billy Winn  and offensive tackle Ryan Pope , both of whom practiced with the team on Wednesday.
Winn, a sixth-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns  in 2012, has not played in an NFL game since 2016. He missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL, was out of football in 2018, then landed on injured reserve again in 2019 with a triceps injury. Winn played in 68 games from 2012 to 2016, however, starting 23 contests for the Browns , Colts , and Broncos .
Pope is a second-year linemen out of San Diego State. A 6-foot-7, 315-pound tackle, Pope signed with the Detroit Lions after the 2019 NFL draft  but was released at the end of training camp before spending time on the 49ers ’ and Jaguars ’ practice squads during the season. He remained in Jacksonville for 2020, but spent most of training camp on the reserve/COVID-19 list, at one point being the only player in the entire NFL still on the list . He was activated on August 31st, but was waived at final cuts.

Poor Mack, we hardly knew ye! And is Winn really the best option out there? A guy who hasn't played in several years?

Because of the failed physical (which can have a conditioning test involved), and because NTs usually have a harder time staying in good conditioning when they're not in off-season workouts (like Packers NT Greene during the lockout)... though he passed the Ravens physical which has said to have the toughest conditioning test in the NFL, so I'm not sure if that's completely valid... of course the Ravens might give breaks to 340+ NTs too.

And no, Winn is not the best option... as I'm still available!

Well, I guess the Packers want to “Winn” now! 🤪
And having the “Pope” on the team gives the Packers a prayerful chance on another Super Bowl! 😁😂

Does it really matter who is there at NT/DT (whatever it's called). You just need a body to push OL around.

Mucky Tundra (1h) : Joey seems so forgettable compared to his brother for some reason
Zero2Cool (1h) : NFL informed teams today that the 2025 salary cap will be roughly $277.5M-$281.5M
Zero2Cool (5h) : Los Angeles Chargers are likely to release DE Joey Bosa this off-season as a cap casualty, per league source.
Zero2Cool (22h) : If the exploit is not fixed, we'll see tons of "50 top free agents, 50 perfect NFL team fits: We picked where each should sign in March" lo
Zero2Cool (22h) : Issue should be solved, database cleaned and held strong working / meeting. Boom!
Zero2Cool (23h) : It should be halted now.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : usually spambots are trying to get traffic to shady websites filled with spyware; the two links being spammed were to the Packers website
Mucky Tundra (23h) : you know when you put it that way combined with the links it was spamming (to the official Packers website)
Zero2Cool (23h) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser
Mucky Tundra (23h) : even with the rapid fire posts?
Zero2Cool (23h) : I'm not certain it's a bot.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : I've got to go to work soon which is a pity because I'm enthralled by this battle between the bot and Zero
Zero2Cool (23h) : Yeah, I see what that did. Kind of funny.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : now it's a link to Wes Hodkiezwicz mailbag
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Now they're back with another topic
Mucky Tundra (23h) : oh lol
Zero2Cool (23h) : I have a script that purges them now.

Mucky Tundra (23h) : what's 118 (besides a number)?
Zero2Cool (23h) : They got 118 slapped in there.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : that's why it confused the hell out of me
Zero2Cool (23h) : Yeah, but this is taking a headline and slapping it into the Packers Talk
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Wasnt there a time guests could post in the help forum?
Zero2Cool (23h) : lol good question, kind of impressed!
Mucky Tundra (23h) : So how is a guest posting?
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Tell them its an emergency
Zero2Cool (23h) : Working. Meetings.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Lots of fun; the spam goes back 4 or 5 pages by this point
Mucky Tundra (23h) : I thought you'd look for yourself and put 2 and 2 together lol. I overestimated ya ;)
Mucky Tundra (23h) : I thought Guests couldnt post?
Zero2Cool (23h) : And gosh that's gonna be fun to clean up! hahaa
Zero2Cool (23h) : Oh. Why not just say that then? Geez.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : check the main forum, seems a spam bot is running amok
Zero2Cool (23h) : What?
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Is the Packers online game "Packers Predict" now available for 2024? I can't tell
Zero2Cool (17-Feb) : Bengals planning to Franchise Tag Tamaurice Higgins
Zero2Cool (14-Feb) : Packers are hiring Luke Getsy as senior offensive assistant.
Martha Careful (12-Feb) : I would love to have them both, esp. Crosby, but either might be too expensive.
Zero2Cool (12-Feb) : Keisean Nixon is trying to get Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams lol
Mucky Tundra (11-Feb) : Yeah where did it go?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : or did you resctrict access to that topic?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : why did you remove the Playoff topic?
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Tua’s old DC won a Super Bowl Year 1 with Tua’s former backup
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : *winning MVP
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Funny observation I've heard: Carson Wentz was on the sideline for both Eagles Super Bowl wins w/guys supposed to be his back up winning
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : pro bowl
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : From 2010 to 2022, it was played on the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : They moved it to the BYE week before Super Bowl several years ago.
