1st - Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia

Ive been really high on Jason Smith going at Nr. 1. The Lions might not be. I think theyll go QB and groom him for a year. Maybe theyll go tackle at 20, or just take the gamble on Cherilus progressing a lot.

2nd St. Louis Rams Jason Smith, OT, Baylor.

This is the popular pick for the Rams. Or Monroe if Smiths off the board by now. They released Orlando Pace and really have no one to replace him on their current roster.

3rd Kansas City Chiefs Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia

Curry could be a possibility here, with the weak LB core the Chiefs have and their conversion to the 3-4. I think that the Chiefs want to keep their new QB safe though. McIntosh is 32 years old and replacable. Albert can move to the right side and theyll have one hell of an O-line.

4th Seattle Seahawks Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest

The Seahawks have traded away Julian Peterson and are in need of a 4-3 OLB. Leroy Hill, Lofa Tatupu and Aaron Curry on the field in their base package will make for a scary defense.

5th Cleveland Browns Brian Orakpo, OLB, Texas

What the Browns really need is a CB, but Malcolm Jenkins has plummeted down the charts after his slow 40-time. McGinest isnt getting any younger and Wimbley is digressing rather than progressing. Mangini also likes a guy like Orakpo, looking at his pick last year.

6th Cincinnati Bengals B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College

The Bengals have need at about every position. They have two recent first round picks at corner and one at OLB. They need to get someone who can apply pressure and stuff the run to help them. Raji is that guy.

7th Oakland Raiders Andre Smith, OT, Alabama

People want to put someone with a lot of speed here, but who exactly do the Raiders have to protect their high-priced QB and HB? Barnes seems like a great addition, but that still leaves a hole at RT. Andre Smith will be picked, groomed at the RT and play LT for a long time.

8th Jacksonville Jaguars Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech

The Jaguars have to get a good receiver. Sanchez is a popular pick here, but also a risky and unnecessary one. Garrard has a lot left, especially after throwing for just 9500 yards in his entire career. Get him a receiver and see where their offense will go.

9th Green Bay Packers Everette Brown, OLB, Florida State

As much as Id like to see Raji or Smith here, theyre both gone. Everette can get to the QB and, with some help on his coverage skills, can be a great starter opposite of Kampman. Might go Micheal Jenkins here, as he may have the highest value on TTs chart.

10th San Francisco 49ers Mark Sanchez, QB, USC

As much as Singletary wants to go with a ferocious defensive guy here, they cant pass up on Sanchez. I still think Shaun Hill can get that team somewhere with a little receiver and O-line help, but it seems that Im the only one.

I agree with some of the picks here ...

detroit with stafford - the rams with monroe or smith (both are about equal IMO).

although I would still see curry going to KC - he's one good LB
andre, raji and crabtree are up for grabs IMO ... I've seen these guys go to all different seems in different mock drafts ...

I keep going back and forth myself with whom would be the best choice for us brown or orakpo ... personally I'd like to secure arod behind a better line - 34 allowed sacks last year sucks ... He will be out of his 'rookie' season so that should help some. But we really need a better line. Maybe there are some decent OT in the 3rd and 4th round?

You know Ted Thompson will grab a nice NT and a OLB and OT somewhere between the 1-4th rounds at least I figure he will. Just depends whom he wants more.

I can see him thou grabbing a TE or another corner (jenkins) in the top rounds thou also.

The KC pick I thought about for a while. Their LBs aren't great by any means, but getting a pass-rushing OLB seems more important to me at this point. Hence, I didn't pick Curry, I think they could go with a guy like Sintim in the 2nd or so.

I took Monroe while keeping in mind that they got their QB in Cassell (A big question mark here for me, but hey, everyone else likes him) and a very athletic O-lineman in Albert last year. Their other side is quite bad though and Cassell tends to hold on to the ball to long, combined with the fact that running to the right will get alot easier aswell with a former-guard with alot of speed at RT. (For the rest, see pick nr. 3).

As for us picking an NT, where would we get one after Raji? That's my big point. Most of the DTs coming out are around 300 pounds. Or at least the top ones. Except for Raji ofcourse.

Although I wouldn't mind Moala as a DE early in the 3rd or late in the 2nd after a trade.

I like it, but there's one thing that I don't agree with. Undead Al likes to pick athletes and speed.

Brace in the second round - many guys think he is actually better then raji (although not sure after the combine and pro-day) I kind of lost track of him

Yeah, you're right, my bad. I always thought he was around 290-300 LBS. Must've been a mental lapse with all these metric conversions or so. Thanks for pointing that out. :thumbleft:

🅱3rd Kansas City Chiefs Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia

Some nice support for the Kansas City pick. They might be the necessary stuff on defense, but let the real upgrades slip up to next year. They just got another LB.

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a deal with seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas, reports the Kansas City Star.

On the other side, they might be getting people in to mentor Curry, or just as a safety valve if he's off the board.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
