What would you think if Gutey did this:

Traded up to 3rd pick in rnd 5 using 12th picks from rnd 5 and 6.

BPF,

This draft looks really good.

Not to be a killjoy, but looking at the chart (for the first time), I can see why everybody trades down.

I love the concept of weighting draft slots, I just think their weightings are really way off. To wit, I think the first round pick valuations, especially the top three, are incredibly high relative to the second and third round picks. I can’t see why anybody would trade up without losing an incredible amount of value.

To that end, as a GM, I think you have to have your powder dry and be ready to deal with the team that is desperate for a particular player. Kudos to Gutey for pulling it off last year. Even more kudos for pulling it off his first year...that took stones.

Then this happened:

I guess you could compare it with 2005 and Aaron Rodgers dropping.

No trades until the 7th rnd.
Was offered 3 late 7th rnd picks for #12, so I took it.

May the draft gods be with The Packers, and Allen drops to #12.

Picks:
Round 1 Pick 12: Allen, Josh, OLB, Kentucky (A+)
Round 1 Pick 30: Bush, Devin, OLB/ILB, Michigan (B+)
Round 2 Pick 12: Adderley, Nassir, CB/FS, Delaware (A-)
Round 3 Pick 11: Sternberger, Jace, TE, Texas A&M (A+)
Round 4 Pick 12: Hill, Justice, RB, Oklahoma State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 16: Beckner Jr, Terry, DT, Missouri (A+)
Round 5 Pick 12: Hill, KJ, WR, Ohio State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 12: Smith, Sutton, DE, Northern Illinois (A+)
Round 6 Pick 21: Evans, Bobby, OT, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 7 Pick 34 (ARI): Crum, Micky, TE, Louisville (A+)
Round 7 Pick 35 (ARI): Dixon, Johnnie, WR, Ohio State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 40 (ARI): Langley, Isaiah, CB, Southern California (A+)

Your Future Picks:
2020 Round 1 Pick
2021 Round 1 Pick

Hey, lay off the chap. His singleminded focus over the years has inspired my wackiest and most ludicrous drafts.

I've said from the beginning, I use this to get familiar with the draft class.

Rounds 1-4 are what I have been looking at to see where the players seem to fall.

The rest is just finishing out the draft.

Although if The Packers are looking to draft a qb, Rypien would be a steal in the 6th rnd.

I see all these predictions where The Packers are taking a TE at 12.

In any draft I have ever done neither of the 2 Iowa TE's have ever gone off the board thst high.

Most of the time they last till 27 and below

Devin Bush is another example, he is always available at the bottom 3rd of the draft.

Nobody knows how the draft will unfold, or what Guteys board looks like.

I enjoy running the different scenarios just to see who falls where.

I say we start a thread to see who can guess the most number of guys Gutey drafts.

Everyone list 10 players who they think will be drafted by The Packers.
Doesn't matter what round. Just that they are drafted.

The person with the most drafted players on their list wins.

Just a suggestion.

Mucky Tundra (8-May) : According to reports, Mel Kiper is furious that Sanders wasn't selected as the new Pope
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Time taken to get picked:
Zero2Cool (8-May) : New Pope: 2 days | Shedeur Sanders: 3 days
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Collin Whitchurch @cowhitchurch · 1h Chicago got a pope before it got a QB to throw for 4,000 yards in a season.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : New Pope from Chicago; in other words, the city produced a Pope before a 4000 yard passer

Zero2Cool (7-May) : And now some Packers blogger is like Doubs to Steelers makes sense!!!!
Zero2Cool (7-May) : You saw me Tweet???

Martha Careful (5-May) : Yes, in the military S2’s work on IPB, PERCEC, PHYSEC and IO
dfosterf (4-May) : FYI civilian companies swipe the S2 designation from the military. S2 is the intelligence branch up to brigade level. G2 is division level.
dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
dfosterf (4-May) : Are you gentlemen and at least one lady familiar with the S2 cognition
Zero2Cool (4-May) : Maybe there isn't an issue.
beast (4-May) : NFL really needs to fix their position labeling issue, but I don't think they care
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Packers did not activate the fifth-year options for linebacker Quay Walker, with the goal of signing him to a contract extension.
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Matthew Golden spoke with Randall Cobb before draft. Looked like chance encounter.
packerfanoutwest (1-May) : from a head left turn?
packerfanoutwest (1-May) : someone drunk?
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Unlikely.
dfosterf (30-Apr) : How long until Jeff Sperbeck's family sues John Elway ?
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : Packers are exercising the fifth-year option on DT Devonte Wyatt, locking in a guaranteed $12.9M for the 2026 season.
beast (30-Apr) : Sounds like P Luke Elzinga has a rookie try out opportunity from the Titans
dfosterf (30-Apr) : Luke Elzinga Punter Oklahoma stil unsigned. Green Bay has been mentioned as good fit
beast (30-Apr) : The Packers re-signed three exclusive rights free agents WR Melton, P Whelan and RB Wilson.

beast (27-Apr) : Yeah, but also some of the wording suggestions Jax only pranked called the QB, not the others... and if he had an open spreadsheet & 3 calls
beast (27-Apr) : Thank goodness he's not leaving the Turtle in the Red Tide
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : Cowboys 1st round pick Tyler Booker will indeed be bringing his pet turtle to Dallas with him
