Names do get bandied about but we can easily tell which are true by the reports of either "interviewing" or "interview request denied". We won't be interviewing Teryl Austin for DC, Lions denied permission just like Vikings on Asst. GM, George Paton.
I worked for Sporting News as part of their radio arm. That is where the Darren Perry report came from. Those guys don't break many stories but if they're reporting something, which isn't the name of the game for them, I would think it was solid.
Mike McCarthy may not be the guy hiring the DC...he may be gone. Like Tauscher said...this whole thing is "insane". Lots of moving parts as they said on their show today. Still, I think it's always been Ball. I found MM's comment on the D has to be better than the O, has to, very odd. He repeated it for emphasis. Not sure why he said that? He's been the one who hasn't moved on from Dom when our D has been nowhere near as good as our offense over the years. There's gotta be something I'm missing in that statement somewhere. He was emphatic, so that's a clue he was trying to communicate something.
Just can't imagine Darren Perry who was part of the problem being offered as the solution. Makes no sense at all...UNLESS, it's Mark Murphy and Ball calling shots and pulling rank because Mike McCarthy is about to walk. I don't trust 1265.
Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
