A big part of the problem with Teddy is he keeps taking projects with his #1.

2005 Just plain dumb luck that Aaron fell to #24. I don;t care how anyone else spins it. He was considered a sure 1-2 choice entering the draft.

2006 Hawk. I wish the draft would have been filled with more studs. It wasn't. I give Ted a pass.

2007 Bustin Harrolle, "Could be a top 10 pick EXCEPT THAT HE WAS INJURED IN COLLEGE." Meh.

2008 Traded down and got Jordy. Teddy screwed the pooch with his other 2 2nd round picks.

2009 Raji. Ok nothing great. Will be remembered for his pick is in Chicago.

2010 Bulaga Solid RT.

2011 Sherrod I had hoped that he and Buluga would be the OT for the next 10 years. Injury ruined any chance.

2012 Perry. Wish we would have seen more from him. He steps it up in a contract year. Go figure.

2013 D Jones. The invisible man.

2014 HHCD. One of the better first round selections by Ted which doesn't say much.

2015 Randall. A classic Teddy reach. Should have waited a round or two and if some other team took him fine but letter CBs walk for two straight years put GB in a bind.

20016 Clark a very young kid that was probably taken sooner that he should have gone but Ted likes to reach and then hope the player will grow. Only a few do.

If he is not going to get pass rush through FA he needs to get it in the draft. Sign Lang and Cook and the offense is basically intact and with growth and experience should be better. Renegotiate Clay and move him inside, resign Perry and draft another Outside rusher and Lineman who can get push next to Daniels. The team won't improve if we year after year, replace youth with new youth. We can't constantly improve the bottom of the depth, to really make a gain the top of the depth needs to improved.

Honestly, I'd be interested in trying to trade up in the draft for a blue chipper.

But I agree, get a damn edge rusher already. Only one we ever had is Clay and he can'tget it done on he outside anymore. I donhave high hopes for Fackrell, but he's unproven.

Datone is good, not great and feally more of a run stuffer. Perry wants to play 4-3 DE.

All teams count on player development. We need to use all the methods for improvement like the other teans. What we do only works well when we're killing it in the draft well beyond what other teams are hitting. Aaron was the one pick that set us apart.

Tired of non descript drafts. Need a big hit this time. Not some DL or CB who is going to take 3-4 years to be a stud, if ever.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

can we draft a new Defensive Coordinator?

This might sound like a joke but it is honestly what I want Thompson to do even if it is clear he won't do it I think it is the best solution for our team.

DRAFT A DB WITH EVERY PICK YOU CAN GET.

The NFL is a passing league and we have been eliminated from the playoffs because of our secondary just too many times for my taste. Rodgers and McCrathy will make the offense work, we don't need anything, just resign Cook.
The rest of the defense is ok, a FA might help.
Our base defense is nickel and our worst players are the DBs.

So yes, let's add 7/8 DBs get this mess fixed finally.

I always want BPA in the first round because you need a game changer.

Saying that, my preferred pick hasn't been BPA, but Christian McCaffrey. The stress a Montgomery-type player puts on a defense was apparent this year so I say double up on it. Then keep both guys fresh, protect your scheme if one gets injured, etc..

How about we just stop using Nickel defense in every damn situation when DBs aren't our teams strength. We used to match personnel more on defense, now we pretty much just play nickel no matter what.

Drafting 7 DBs just means at least 3 or 4 of your draft picks probably won't make the team it also guarantees our interior OL and OLB depth will be nothing the next couple seasons and significantly hurts us at skill positions on offense (remember how they "made it work" in 2015 and half of 2016? Not so well.

Mucky Tundra (43m) : Rude!
beast (1h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (5h) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (7h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (9h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
