This guy's body is under more of a microscope than a supermodel. He looks a lot slimmer, as long as he can move I'm not super worried.

Lacy was still able to be an impact player last year WITH the weight problem AND after he got injured. He just couldn't do it consistently. He should be a beast this year being in better shape.

When weight affects how a player plays, it IS something the fans want to know about.
Just as any other thing the player does in their personal life that affects their quality of play should be made known to the fans.
JMO of course.

The public feels too entitled and it's sickening. Eddie cannot go ANYWHERE without some asshole asking him about his weight. Why? Because the PUBLIC feels they HAVE TO KNOW, (thanks coach). We don't put ourselves in their shoes because if we did, we would have some respect and decency when it comes to certain aspects, such as this. But who wants to think 10 seconds into the future? Shoot first, ask questions later and then whine about how awful everything is.

Satirically speaking here, we should demand the NFL have another option in Injury Reports that says 'FAT AS FUCK'. Would that make you all happy? Would you feel better watching the game on Sunday knowing the player is listed as FAT AS FUCK?

Whether a player is +10 or -10 lbs, does that change how you watch the game?
Does that change how you enjoy the game?
Does that matter one damn bit to you?
If it does, that says more about YOU than it does about the player.

How many times have you heard (guilty myself here) some idiot say "For X million you should be able to Kick/Punt/Pass/Catch/ETC better?" ... truly think about that for a moment.

Of course, just my opinion here, but certain things I have no interest whatsoever knowing or reading about. And on that note, I'm taking my uninterested ass outta this thread and letting you all waste your time talking about another man's weight.

Such as, if we didn't pay "player A" so much... could we then afford to pay "player B" for the future instead? I think that's fair game.

How many people are asking Jordy about his knee when he goes out in public, or looking to see if he limps? You think Steelers fans want to know if Bell can pass on the weed for a few weeks? Before he completely fell off the ledge, you think people didn't want to know if Johnny was flying to Las Vegas on the weekend?

This is no more about entitlement than any other question a fan or reporter has about a player. Whether it's injury, drunk, baked, fat, bad play calling, or lazy, if someone isn't playing or performing, people are going to ask why.

It was an issue, he's addressed it, and now it's up to him to show he's learned from it. That can't happen until games happen and the results come in.
The guy has a stout frame. He's got a lot of power. He's not going to look like tarzan and I'm ok with that because he would probably run like Jane.
I think he will have his best year yet barring the Oline from spending half the year on the side lines like last year which also played a part in all this but not much said about it.

I pretty much believe that Mr. Lacy and the rest of the entire Packer organization are fully aware of how being overweight is not going to be overlooked (no matter the talent level) . The weight comments as well as the cartoons, etc. , will stop when production on the playing field outweighs these negative stories. However, let us be aware that the fans and the press have long memories. So if any players weight again adversely affects their on field performance , be sure that the hammer of the press and the pressure of the fans will fall with even greater severity. We see these people being paid huge amounts of money to perform at the highest level and we all know that being overweight for your position will simply not be tolerated.

Let us hope that a great lessen has been learned and that the Packers benefit from this issue now and into the future. The coaches and trainers as well should now see that they need to be better monitors to these "very" young men and not assume that they will make the best decisions about their diets, exercise, sleep, and health habits. Not unlike young men that join the military, some need to learn the good personal habits that they were never taught . Good eating habits foster greater endurance, more alert minds, and aid in good muscle growth and in part help to lessen the risk of injury.

I'm sure that the Packers training table is closely monitored, but players don't eat all their meals there. Therefor, I hope that the coaches, trainers, and yes fellow players will be a positive influence upon those players (rookie and veteran) that need to develop into better players and better men.

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
