Didn't read it because I mostly don't care but I think one aspect of this that is very interesting is the following:
Terrible conditions...your team scores late and needs the PAT to tie the game. There is suddenly a lot of pressure on your K to hit a 33 yarder to send the game into OT, or you lose. I think, typically, a K is going to convert this one with ease, but when there is a ton of pressure due to situation, alone, and then throw bad conditions on top of it, it's really going to get interesting. We may find ourselves in just such a scenario... what if Mason has to hit a 33 yarder late and home field advantage is on the line?
This rule definitely amps up the excitement.
