The old Heisman award argument... very interesting because most of the recent QB Heisman winner have been over drafted and have gone bust in NFL making the Heisman winners more useful to know who to avoid in the draft that use a draft pick on and making the Heisman award useless in telling which QBs will be good in the NFL and therefore that argument completely fails.

Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow and Troy Smith (among others) all did better in the Heisman race than Hundley and had potential to be drafted higher than Hundley... would you take them over Hundley?

I know the question was directed at nerd, but I would certainly entertain Manziel or Tebow over Hundley as I think we should be able to play to their strengths without the fans getting in the way of ever questioning who the starter is. Both talents I believe will be wasted in the NFL because they ended up with the wrong teams. I think many of the short 3rd downs we seem to wiff on would be converted with a Manziel or Tebow substitution. To me they are more valuable than a clipboard back-up as they would have the potential to be weekly positive contributors to the team.

Not to say that we couldn't do the same thing with Hundley, but Tebow and Manziel from my viewing were just better at converting in those situations.
