As long as Aaron is there the night Brett's number is added to the Ring of Honor!

That's the I.important date!

I sure hope Bart Starr can be at both, been very little news about his recovery.

That would make both days do much more special.

I don't understand why anyone thinks Aaron should be at Favres packers HOF thing? He wasn't here and had nothing to do with the majority of Bretts career in GB. Guys like Antonio Freeman and others that Brett actually played with or was friends with is who you'll see there. It makes no sense to act like Aaron should have some obligation to be there.

Well I'll just jump in too it, Rodgers is arguably the face of the franchise and team leader. I get he had this planned in advance but when you're in a leadership role regardless if it's a football team or private company sometimes you're expected to attend these kind of functions.

To me personally he should darn well know that skipping out is going to create a bit of a stir and look bad, be the leader and show up.

Now before I get all the Favre/Rodgers poo storm.... ask yourself this: If it was Bart Starr or Jerry Kramer Rodgers was dissing would you still say no big deal ?

Again a real leader can't pick and choose his situations he has to take them as they come.... Just my thoughts

Sigh.... you missed the point.

He is the leader of the franchise for lack of a better term when you are in a leadership position then sometimes you are expected to attend certain functions.

Put Favre and Rodgers relationship to the side.... got it? Fantastic.

When a franchise icon( could be anyone of them) goes in the HOF do you :

A. Go and represent the brand because hey that will be you someday and it's the right thing to do.
B. Go golfing and blow it off as no big deal.

To me it's not about Favre. It's about being a leader and doing the right thing. Time to stop acting like the 20 something golden boy and settle down a hair.

As for the media Z2C he consented to the ESPN interview and could have answered in a variety of ways.

He walked into this poo storm knowing full well his choice of not going could stir the pot.

OK done... sorry

Had Favre been a wire to wire Packer I would agree with the above post. He's a Minnesota Vikings QB...that is where he wanted to be so that's how I view him, so why would Aaron be there for a guy who wanted to and did finish his playing career for another team?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I'm sure some good friends from his playing days (bag o donuts for example) may want to be there in support of a friend but there are no obligations.

Of course he knows it will create a poo storm. You can say shit on this forum you know. If not Nerd would have been banned long ago or have nothing to say but I digress. It will create a poo storm among the media looking for clickbait and among the Favre/Rodgers feud conspiracy theorists looking to read far more into something than should be.

If it was Bart Starr or Jerry Kramer you would get a different reaction because no one hates Bart Starr or Jerry Kramer. Lots of people hate Favre so its no big deal to them if Rodgers misses the event. If it were Starr of Kramer they would say the same thing you did, that its his job as the leader to be there.

If Rodgers had nothing planned I would love to see him there but I wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't show up. As it is, he has made a commitment to be somewhere else and since this is not a life altering event I would have less respect for him if he were to cancel his previous commitment just to put on the face of the franchise at some event that is not about him.

If not for the golf tourny, would Rodgers have some obligation to be there? 😕

Zero2Cool (4h) : Packers were not selected for the 2025 Hall of Fame game.
dfosterf (7h) : PFOW Out of our division would be a good thing imo
Zero2Cool (8h) : Jameson Williams is done at 24 years old? What? He's a WR, not QB. I'm missing something here haha
wpr (8h) : Tomorrow is almost here.
packerfanoutwest (9h) : would you want him if Pack needed a back up qb?
packerfanoutwest (9h) : JW is done......stick a fork in him
Zero2Cool (11h) : You should. He goes to AFC that helps Packers.
packerfanoutwest (21h) : don't care
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Lions shopping Jameson Williams?
packerfanoutwest (22-Apr) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : It's a poor design. New site has SignalR like our gameday chat
wpr (22-Apr) : Ah today's Shout was very quick to post.
wpr (22-Apr) : now 3
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Who? What?
beast (22-Apr) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (21-Apr) : meh
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : It's so awesome.

dfosterf (21-Apr) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
