For once, I agree with Barfarn... Brett was a media whore who played the media like a fiddle. He promoted this awww shucks country boy persona tha t endeared him to rival teams fans as much as Packers fans. He was anything but a good guy.

There should be no ceremony while TT/MM or 12 is still around. It's an insult.

Sports is about more than winning and losing. Character counts for much.

Pretty sure no one wanted to touch the Mark Chmura case, so trying to fault Brett Favre for that is a bit much.

You and I have different opinions on what is worth being labeled a 'great summary'. Personally, I like facts. Something that summary lacked a lot of.

4. Favre suddenly played one great seasons w/ Minn.
5. After ’98; at crunch time Favre threw some of the dumbest INTs in history; just throwing ball up for grabs-This is epically bad outrageously stupid stuff:
•
Pack v. Giants NFC champ game-OT; After a 4th Q w/ a QB rating of under three; in OT, on 2nd 8 throws an INT that was WAYYYYYYYY behind Driver
•
•
Pack V Philly: D gets a stop in OT; 1st and 10 BF just heaves the ball up for grabs in double coverage like a dick for INT.
•
•
Play that knocked Jets out of playoffs; just heaves ball up for grabs like a dick
•
•
Minn v. NO NFC champ game; throws ball across field like a dick.
•
•
Plus the total INT/QB meltdowns in PO games w/ Rams, 2005 Minn and ATL.
•
•
Last five PO games that Packers lost w/ BF his Passer rating was 55.7 [8 TDs, 15 INTs] This is TJ Rubly bad.
• 6. Didn’t like Ferguson and skipped him in the progressions.
7. Had his own separate lockerroom.
8. Couldn’t throw more than 20 yards accurately w/ the bad thumb, but was too selfish to sit-out and heal, personally killing a season; but keeping his PERSONAL streak alive.
9. BF2 failed to prepare and study film
10. Favre constantly disrupt meetings with class-clown type comments talking about farts, pooping; Mr Myogi; etc.
11. Said openly that he would not help AR.
12. I’m retiring/not retiring crap was so he could stay in limelight and it was a disruption.
13. Called out Mike McKenzie in public regarding his contract issues and McKenzie vowed never to return to GB because of it.
14. Called out others similar to McKenzie.
15. Threw a public tantrum when GB wouldn’t get Moss.
16. Some of his practical jokes were vicious often went too far and some humiliated some rookies.
17. Made no effort to tone down his gunslinger BS.
18. Often Rocketed a ball into triple coverage that got him adulation if completed or not [cant ya hear madden gushing?].
19. Favre too often refused safe check-downs in favor of more risky downfield passes.
20. He’s the top INT person in history.
21. His Int rate increased in last 8 years at GB.
22. He refused to take coaching that implored him to be more safe w/ the ball until he got to Minn.
23. He didn’t throw 336 INTs, he threw 1200, it is just that the other 900 were dropped by the D [okay maybe a little exaggeration but substantially true].
24. He always wants to be the center of attention.
25. His brother Scott was convicted of manslaughter when he stopped on a train track drunk killing the passenger. Favre said, “This was a mistake between two buddies. I mean, there’s nothing good about drinking and driving, but who hasn’t done it?”
26. In 2012 his brother got pardoned by outgoing AG after Favre endorsed a political ally of the outgoing AG.
27. His sister has been arrested for a drive by shooting, manufacturing meth and felony shoplifting w/ her sister-in-law married to Jeff Favre.
28. It looks like crime is Favre family gene related problem.
29. He’s a misogynistic.
30. He cheated on Deanna.
31. He made that stupid bald coach from Minnesota fly down, be his butler and mow his grass and jump through other hoops was some crazy stuff.
32. He tossed Jets under the bus about reporting his injuries.
33. He lied about the circumstances about his exit form GB on Greta van Sestrund.
34. He lied last year when he said he was not afraid of getting booed after Murphy truthfully stated he did.
35. Was on a 5-6 year hissy fit refusing to return to GB after retirement.
36. When his brother was in prison he said, “Here I am in my fairy-tale world playing football while Scott sits in prison, and I have done more bad things than he’s ever dreamed of.” Favre is saying this of a person in prison for MANSLAUGHTER!!!
37. Plus all the stuff nerd has brought up.
38. Sexually harassing the 2 Jets’ employees.

On some opinion is mixed w/ the facts that a BF liker might find a little coarse; but the general sentient is not unreasonable. There is A LOT of stuff I avoided because I could not substantiate it...A LOT.

1- I don't remember, was this ever 100% confirmed? I remember it was speculated and then everyone just ran with it. Couldn't care less what he does with his personal time if it is not breaking the law.

2- Favre was worse with Ray Rhodes and Mike Sherman because they didn't coach him, they befriended him and his play said as much. Favre didn't have the talent around him and felt he had to do more because he didn't trust said talent.

3- Favre with Jets played pretty well the first 10 or so games until a torn biceps tendon. I think even threw a six TD game.

4- Favre and this is just my opinion of course, was more lucky than good during that 2009 season with Vikings. That TD to I think Greg Little? Come on.

5- Favre won a lot of games for the Packers and expecting him to have won every single one is quite absurd. What's next, expecting every Ted Thompson draft pick to be a Hall of Fame player and when that doesn't happen it adds credence to the suckage of Thompson?

Favre was not the best quarterback but he ranks right up there with being one of the absolute most exciting and entertaining to watch on Sunday.

I love this.
Was expected from the Favre Haters.

Rehash every bad thing Brett was accused of, some true, some not.

Yet you all fail to mention all the good things Brett brought to Green Bay.

18 years of HOF caliber football should be enough to make all the rehashing GO away.

Some of you need to learn how to appreciate players when they are in Green Bay..

GET OVER IT!!!!!!

Brett got a pass for his antics for years while he was in Green Bay, the lack of limelight in the NFL's smallest city and the fact it was before the cellphone in everyone's hand twitter-verse is probably the only thing that kept all his transgressions in the dark for so long. He also was in the wrong for how he handled his exit from the team. The Packers made mistakes too but in my eyes Favre takes 85% of the blame for how everything played out. He was a prima dona and for years I really didn't care, until it became too destructive for the franchise to continue.

That being said I'm glad the two sides are "burying the hatchet" and he'll join the Packers HoF. Time heals all wounds, the Packers won a superbowl without him and the years he was in Green Bay were by and large successful. Forgive the bad remember the good just like looking back on an old relationship haha.

That said, much of what nerd, barfarn, and uffda mention in regards to his character are regrettably true and shouldn't be erased just because he won a super bowl.

My ill will left when we crushed the Vikings twice in 2010 with him at QB on the way to a Superbowl. No better way to wash away those feeling than that. He got some revenge on us the prior year, but we got the last laugh. No scoreboard is equal and I'm ready to move past it. He gave so many great years here, Favre was one of the main reasons I started following football at a young age. He was a super hero to me, so I could never hold a grudge for too long!
