I'm only going to say one more thing, responding to greengold's "Who should Ted have brought in to challenge Bahktiari?"

Since the end of the season, I believe the ONLY OL the packers have brought in are three UDFA since the draft. Not only did they not pick up ANY OT in veteran free agency, they couldn't find one worth even a seventh round pick in the draft.

That to me says it is extremely unlikely that, unless Bahktiari completely tanks it in a Jon Michels way, or gets hurt (neither of which I am predicting there is virtually no chance that anyone else is going to be starting at LT this season.

That's my last word on this subject. It's pretty clear that, with the possible exception of andTex, I'm not able to get my point across in a way that they respond to the qualified claim I am trying to make rather than to a point that I'm not trying to make. Whether its because I'm dim or others are really isn't relevant; I'm not getting what I'm trying to say across.

I'll stop wasting your time in this thread and go back to wasting your time in others.

Ok. Ted Thompson should have gone out and signed a LT to come in and compete. Thats a great theory. The reality is who. PFF had a Top 10 Tackles going into FA. Only 2 were LT. 1 retired and the other resigned with his current team. Oh well. Ted Thompson should have signed someone.

The Packers currently show 63 players on the roster and 8 new draft picks. 11 of those 71 are OL. That seems to be a pretty large percentage to me. But maybe we could cut any LB not projected to be a starter so we can just sign some more OL. After all, Ted Thompson needs to sign someone.

Let's just cut any non starter. Then we can sign someone to compete at LT. Barclay, Tretter, Vujnovich aren't enough competition. If we just had a couple more guys. Who cares about balance? Lets sign some more OL!

Packers could cut the Punters also. Becuase if we just had more competition at LT, we would never need to punt. That's 2 more they could sign from the non existant list of HOF LT's waiting by the phone.

It's easy to be a fan. We don't have to worry about the big picture or reality. Ted Thompson does. As a fan, we can ignore the fact the Packers can only have 90 on the roster. Ted Thompson can't. We can ignore the need for competition at every position. Ted Thompson can't. We can pretend that the player we need exists and is waiting for our call. Ted Thompson has the reality of an empty pool of HOF players waiting for our call.

IMO, the biggest impact will be ST. This returner has been compared to Cordorelle Patterson. If he's anything near that dude, he's gonna be awesome.

You got two CBs, you got an ILB, you got a FB. That's five in one draft, on a loaded roster.

Except on ST's.

Ryan may be the exception this year, There will be plenty of camp competition for the spot beside Barrington.

Im most interested in our WR - wondering if we will be a bigger version of cobb like they are making out to be; and perhaps a decent returner.

(Oh, and Haloti Ngata wasn't out of our price range. The Packers had plenty of cap room to bring him in if they were serious about it. The reason why Ted never goes after the Ngatas is that he doesn't like the kind of risk that paying that price brings with it.

4th & 5th round picks, there goes Ryan and Hundley. I say that is out of Ted's price range.
