I like him when he plays both positions, it's the best way to use one of your best players. Keeps the offense guessing and it helps you where you need him the most.

He's an outside linebacker that is effective when being moved around, but he is an outside linebacker.
They need to play him inside more at this point because they have nobody else.
Hell, they don't even have any depth behind the guys they don't have.

Clay is a Linebacker and a weapon. He's most effective as a pass rusher but is such a great athlete that he can be moved anywhere. I think they should keep him at OLB most of the time but continue experimenting with him lining up inside based on match up. But we can't take away his most valuable role!

Clay is most productive as a pass rusher because that is what he has been concentrating on. I have always thought his body is better suited for ILB. His size, speed and strength can be maximized on every play, there is no way to run away from him when inside. And the team is better having Perry or Neal on the field rather than the other option that would be playing inside if clay was kept at OLB.
