The Packers can't cut Hawk right now, not without being able to pass a physical, which is probably unlikely considering he had surgery less than a month ago.

Well that answers a few questions. lol

There's no need to rush things anyway. Treat the guy with some respect. He was an adequate player for a long time, never an off-field problem, never known to be a slacker or non-effort player. He restructured his contract.

I don't want him on the roster next season, but let's do it with some grace and respect.

Yes he's been underwhelming for a #5 pick, and this is a big boy business, but he has been by all accounts a great leader/locker room guy who always played hard. I'm not eager to see him back on the roster (for the money he's paid) but I respect what he's done how he's conducted himself as a Packer (not saying you're not, sschind).

With the injury thing that may not apply but I think it did apply to guys like Bostick, Jones and Dorsey. We knew they didn't figure into out plans and we let them go so they could make plans and be available for other teams to consider right from the start. That is showing respect to your players.

I agree that Hawk has been nothing but a class act on the team. He willingly took pay cuts. He accepted being cut and brought back at a lesser salary when some guys may have taken it personally. If every Packer player had A.J Hawk's attitude we would be a better team without adding another player.
