It didn't seem like Hawk had a very good game today.

We have drafted so many linebackers and he was a (5th?) pick in our draft. As in, the earliest pick we will ever have? He's a bust, in that kind of context, when you have a GM that is as one dimensional as ours, as regards free agency and the draft. Let's wake up to those kinds of realities. He'd be fine in our minds if he was a 6th rounder, but he was not. He'd be fine if we had not drafted a gazillion linebackers, plus free agents to put him in a better spot, or whatever, but we have.

He flashes, at rare times, but he's a bust, imo.

I disagree. AJ Hawk is an average player. He is incredibly durable, and the Packers suck at finding inside linebackers. So bad that they have to move arguably their best pass rusher to inside to compensate. Longevity does not necessarily make a player great. As far as I'm concerned, the Packers defense will never be consistently great with AJ Hawk on the field. However, as long as AJ Hawk is playing beside a "very good" inside linebacker, he could be a "good" player. He has his moments good play, but his median is easily average.
