He's going to insults... which tells he's just a troll playing games... and I fell for his stupid game.

Simple put Thompson is better than most of the GMs in the NFL and thank goodness we're no longer in any sort of cap trouble and being forced to cut important players because we're in cap troubles from over spending and not taking care of business. Thompson takes care of the Packers business so we don't have to worry about things like that.

BTW...not the GM's fault... It was Dumervil's now former agent's office who was tardy with the document not Elway.

I said I didn't like your actions in how you portrayed the Dumervil situation one bit. I don't. Yes, beast, it BECAME a cap space issue only AFTER the paperwork wasn't sent in on time. The Dumervil situation is famous in the way T.O.'s deal with David Joseph and the Niners went down.

Dumervil's contract called for 12 million in cap dollars... The Broncos weren't going to pay him that, regardless of any situation. He wasn't worth 12 million based on market factors. Did the Broncos just "cut him for cap space"...No. Neither party wanted to sever the relationship. A reworked deal lowering his cap number was agreed to and Dumervil's people didn't get the signed agreement back in time. It was agreed to and signed...the cap space issue was dealt with by the restructure. The cap wasn't even relevant to the restructure in the sense that the Broncos weren't interested in paying him 12 mil regardless.

Do you not understand he wasn't just cut for cap space as you alleged. You said he was cut to make room for Welker. Welker had no bearing on his situation whatsoever.

If I was to put it into current Packers terms... Let's say the Packers aren't interested in paying over 30 starting CB Tramon Williams nearly 10 million dollars this season. The Packers decide they are moving on from Tramon unless he takes a pay cut because they don't feel he's worth 10 million. Say the Packers extend Jordy and there is only 5 million left in cap space to sign Randall. Tramon is willing to take 5 million this season instead of the near 10. That will create 10 million in cap for us... 5 mil left after Jordy + 5 mil extra for Tramon's restructure that isn't signed yet but is verbally agreed to. The Packers sign Randall and his cap number is 8 million this year. Well, with Tramon agreeing to a restructure we have 10 million... all of a sudden Tramon's agent doesn't get the paperwork back in time with his signed restructure...the Packers already have NFL official deals with Jordy and Randall. There isn't enough space left and they're out of time to be in cap compliance. What will happen to Tramon? Packers will be forced to release him against Tramon's and the Packers wishes all because the agent didn't get the paperwork back. The issue had nothing to do with Randall or Jordy or Tramon...it had everything to do with Tramon's agent dropping the ball. It also would have nothing to do with Julius Peppers signing. The Packers simply at no point and time were going to pay Tramon 10 million REGARDLESS of any other moving part. That was Dumervil's situation... Elway wasn't going to pay him 12 million NO MATTER WHAT. Both sides worked it out so he could stay. Agent drops ball.... you go on and on and on about this being a choice between Welker and Dumervil...then it was a choice between signing rookies or cutting him...then an act of aggression that backfired. None of the things you stated were accurate. Dumervil is a Bronco that season IF the agent doesn't screw up by getting the paperwork back too late.

But I do *expect* and *want* a team that doesn't just try to finesse things, that isn't just satisfied when they outplay the other guys. I want a team that strives to destroy the other team on both sides of the ball. A team whose players, to a man, on every play, look at the guy on the other side of the line with eyes that say, "I'm coming. I'm coming, and I'm going to beat you, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. You may be stronger than me in the weight room. You may run away from me on the track. But right here, right now, my will is stronger than you, you pissant. And my will *will* be done!"

This has no bearing on the argument just an observation about Dumerville. If he had in fact agreed to a deal why couldn't he just resign after he was cut. Players do it all the time and it seems that he understood it wasn't the Broncos who wanted to cut him. It was his agents fault and he fired his agent right. He was cut and free to sign with anyone, he didn't have to clear waivers.

To me it sounds like Elvis never wanted to play for the Broncos and cooked up a scheme in which he gets to leave and make his agent look like the bad guy. He agreed to a deal, decided he changed his mind but didn't want to look like a prick and back out so he cooked up this scheme. Unless I am wrong about the details it vaults good old Elvis to the top of my world class pricks list. Even if he wan't in on it which he made it look like by firing his agent he still could have honored his agreement and signed with the Broncos.

Sorry for the detour
