Hell of a game and lots of credit to the Green Bay Packers. I will enjoy this while I can. I must say, however, I'm not very optimistic about facing the 49'ers. Another division win and an embarrassment in the playoffs, especially by the 49'ers, won't make me feel any better about the season, and that's all I've said all along. At this point, I think the 49'ers are a much better team, so the Packers are going to have to play perfect football to have a chance, especially on offense. They have their work cut out for them.

I'm not really a very optimistic nor a pessimistic person, but rather a probability and odds person based on the facts as I see them. In this case, I think the odds are in the 49'ers favor, and the past two games these two teams have played are pretty good evidence to support that. I hope I'm wrong, but I can really see some of the Packers defensive communication issues biting the Packers in the ass. I also do not trust the Packers run defense against Gore and company.

The Packers will truly have to play their best game of the season to win, and I hope they do. It's just a lot to overcome.

Losing would sting for a bit, but time heals all wounds. For example, I appreciate the battle with Tampa Bay in 1997. I even appreciate the 1998 wild card against San Francisco. The Sherman years also produced several fun moments. I have a fond appreciation for those games, even though I know how those seasons ended. If the Packers were to lose to San Francisco, I don’t think it salts the experience I had watching the late-season comebacks at Dallas and Chicago.

On paper we can't win this game, just like Lombardi's beat to shit team going into the "ice bowl". Dallas had superior talent. So uncover that field and turn off the heat coils. Freeze that muther fuckr, and watch those California boys slip and slide.

But for me, winning in the playoffs is so much more enjoyable, as is making it to and winning the Super Bowl. Those victories live forever, and are much more rare than an excitable regular season match up. I think I'm always worried about the future and not finding another Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers. Since we have Aaron Rodgers now, I want to see this team seriously competing for another championship, not sputtering out in the first or second round of the playoffs. That's for the Cardinals, Bengals, and Chargers of the league.

I know we all would love to win another Super Bowl, and I'm certainly not trying to say otherwise. But having one of the best players at the most important position in the NFL and not seriously competing for a Super Bowl always makes me at least a little disappointed in the season. Also, getting embarrassed in the early rounds of the playoffs is mostly what I'm referring to. If the Packers put up a respectful fight, and still lose, than it's not so bad. But being embarrassed like the past couple of seasons is simply unacceptable.

Hopefully the 49'ers have gotten a little cocky and overlook the Packers to some extent. Unfortunately, I doubt the cry-baby Harbaugh would ever allow his team to do that.

What I am talking about is how a loss will be so embarrassing. Its almost as if you'd rather not have them be in the playoffs because you can't handle the embarrassment it if they lose. Yours is probably not the best example of the posts I've seen about being embarrassed in the playoffs but I've seen plenty. Several saying they would rather not make the playoffs than be one and done again.

I guess that I would expect a little more excitement even if the prospect of a win is not as bright as we would like it to be.

We've already overcome a lot, we have a lot more to overcome to win a Super Bowl. I'm happy as hell we won the division seeing how it all played out, and now I want to see us smack the cockiness right off the face of Harbaugh. And with the elements, I think we have a chance - just not a really good chance.

Zero2Cool (4h) : LB Oren Burks to sign a 2-year, $5M deal with the Bengals.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Based on how it was worded at the time, probably scout.
beast (4h) : I don't think the media person ever told the public the source, but Gute or LaFleur did say they thought Tom has earned his spot at OT
beast (4h) : I think it was supposedly unnamed Packers source
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Was that Gute or Lefleur or someone else?
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Zach Tom could be a really good guard, an all pro tackle, but probably be a HOF Center. Who said that?
Zero2Cool (5h) : It's March 10th. I don't think anything is done.
Martha Careful (5h) : if we think CB is done, we have a poor roster
