The Minnesota Vikings are changing their quarterback lineup again after reports of a concussion to their starter as they prepare to play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Does it occur to anybody that this whole concussion paranoia is a bunch of crap? He got it in the 3rd quarter; Nobody noticed including Freeman; He played the rest of the game no problem - other than the typical Viking QB badness that had existed even before the concussion. Then three days later, somebody decides he has a concussion. BFD for Packer fans - but what if something like this happened to Aaron Rodgers or one of OUR other key players had a situation like this - strong chance of missing a game? Would that make bullshit seem more like bullshit? Or would some people still buy all this hyper-ness about concussions?

The three cases that come to mind of multiple concussions and their long term effects (or not) are: Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and Jim McMahon. I remember seeing Aikman wobbling around obviously messed up in the head many times, then go back in the game and play normally. Where are they now? Young and Aikman are competent normal network commentators. McMahon apparently has a fried out brain - a poster child for the concussion-mania people. But what else do we know (by reputation anyway) about McMahon? He was a druggie - a wacked out fool probably before he ever had any concussions.

I say this whole hyper-caution thing is trumped up bullshit, and while it could work to the Packers advantage or no effect many times, it could also at some point work against us.

I am so glad we have TPB on call. He is an expert and knows exactly how every single concussed person is going to react and also what is best for them.

We never have to wonder or worry ever again. Just email it to TPB and he will handle it.

That's just it......had it been any other QB in the NFL, they would have KNOWN he had a head injury.
Of course just the fact that he signed with the Vikings in the FIRST place should have given a red flag that something was wrong with his head.

I don't know a thing about them at all.

And what does insulting me or the way I paid for my family to live have to do with anything?

Vikings could realize just what a mistake it was to throw Freeman into the fire with virtually no practice, this could be a easy way to go back to Ponder, and give Freeman time to figure out the offense. (JK)

Does it really matter who is playing qb for The Vikings?

Head injuries are nothing to gamble with, error on the side of caution every time.

When all is saiD and done, this is JUST GROWN MEN GETTING PAID TO PLAY A GAME.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'
