Green Bay - The practice injury report was only half bad for the Packers Wednesday.

On the one hand, LB Clay Matthews (hamstring), RB James Starks (knee) and CB Casey Hayward (hamstring) were still out.

On the other hand, TE Jermichael Finley (concussion), FB John Kuhn (hamstring) and CB Jarrett Bush (hamstring) were back at work.

offensive lineman Greg Van Roten did not practice.

Having Bush back is actually kind of a negative.

With Lacy, Franklin, and now Kuhn practicing, James Starks doesn't need to be rushed back, he proved he can do the job, so let's get him 100% if/when he is needed later.

Zero, you touched on this in another thread, Finley is back, hopefully he doesn't start shying away from going over the middle. He will be a force the rest of the year if he plays like he did the 1st 3 weeks.

Burnett finally being able to take the field, IMHO, is huge, he is the qb of the db's, especially this week, mental mistakes could prove more costly then physical errors.

Jarret Bush being back strengthens special teams play and gives depth to to the defensive backfield.

Hayward just remains a mystery, The Packers hid the severity of his injury well it seems.

All in all, the the situation is looking up for this weeks game.

Really hoping that Matthews being limited is just precaution and to give that hammy more of a rest. So glad Burnett and Finley will be back.

What the hell is going on with Hayward? Weren't they saying he'd be back after 4 weeks (a month)? I'm very curious as to why there is very limited news on this.

Look to see that happen again this year.

Hammy's are so unpredictable, probably would be the best way to handle this.

Mucky Tundra (17h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (18h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (18h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (21h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
