49ers, Redskins and Bengals were all playoff teams last year. It's a tough way to start the season and those tough teams exaggerated the Packers weaknesses to a point they have to acknowledge and correct them.

Eddie Lacy, Morgan Burnett, Casey Hayward, Jermichael Finley, Clay Matthews III, James Starks and Jarrett Bush will all be playing against Detroit. This is going to be a huge difference for the Packers. Primarily Hayward and Burnett.

I can see the Packers running off three or four or even five wins after the BYE.

Edit, thought I'd add this.

They ran the ball for 182 yards. That was the concern in past years. They lost two ball games, but they lost to two of the better teams in the league with Cincinnati and the 49ers. They are going to be fine. They've got two weeks to get ready for Detroit. They have two weeks to correct the mistakes. They'll be fine. They are one of the better teams in the league.

Did they all tell you individually that they would be ready to play against Detroit? Or did Mike McCarthy whisper that in your ear on behalf of all of them?

I like it. A look at the bright side.

Figure too, this is a new OL configuration, essentially with a new set of RBs (since Starks has been primarily absent since 2010). Jennings and McMillian played better in our secondary. That, and we have all of the new emphasis this year on strength and conditioning... we're a much healthier te.....

For me.. it is not all doom and gloom at all.. actually, I seen a ton of positives out of yesterday.. and there were some aspects that screamed out loud that need to be addressed.

Our offensive line looked pretty damn good overall, with the exception of EDS. Guy got his ass handed to him physically a number of times.. Michael Johnson rocked him into next week on his stunt.. you can get beat and then you can get your ass handed to you. It was the later.

I would have liked to win that game.. we should have won that game after we came back and got up by 16.. turnovers we a killer. One pick was Rodgers error the other appeared to be Jones. The fumble on the 4th down.. that is tough, not sure why Franklin decided to leave his feet after they served him so well all day long.. but one can easily chalk that up to a rookie mistake.

Overall, it was a good growth day. And honestly, even though I think it will hurt us later in the season, the bye week was a blessing currently. Injuries and working on some things.. cleanup.

Not happy that we lost, but not all is lost. We found a legitimate running game, the defense is improving over the course of three games (still think the second half experimenting in the Skins game will and has already paid dividends. Our passing game will find it rhythm and the offensive tackles have looked as good as they can look to date.

Listening to Cowherd bang on Rodgers this morning.. that is the best news. Last time he went off on a Rodgers witch hunt.. we hoisted the Lombardi.

Yeah, sitting at 1-2, I think this is a far better team than it's record indicates. We could easily be 3-0. Just have to get our team healthy, and keep moving forward.

Is it too hard to see that the injuries to these guys are such that 2 weeks should be enough to get them Healthy. I'm guessing that if this had been the last week of the season and a playoff spot was on the line some of these guys would have played or continued playing or at least came back in the game.

Sure, some of these guys might be injured worse than initially thought but that is not the indication as of now. I would fully expect all those guys to be playing in 2 weeks.

Did McCarthy whisper into your ear anything to contradict what Zero said?

We put up 58 points on two of the best defenses in the league, and lost to two all but guaranteed and very likely two division winners by 11 points total. And both games, we gave points away with penalties and mistakes.

If we clean up either of those, we can beat anybody.

Mucky Tundra (17h) : @AaronNagler · 2m Both Jordan Love and Malik Willis were Limited participants at Packers practice today.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Johnson didn't make it until 2020. Ring 2023. 🤷 Personally, he should have been in years prior to Hall.
Zero2Cool (20h) : HUMP DAY
beast (20h) : Guys that have a good shot at making the NFL Hall of Fame usually get into their teams pretty fast
beast (20h) : Yeah, but is Kampman and the others in the NFL Hall of Fame?
Zero2Cool (20h) : Johnson was Hall of Fame, 2020. Should haev been in Ring a year later, not three years.
Zero2Cool (20h) : I could be wrong there though
Zero2Cool (20h) : Guys like Kampman, Tim Harris, Al Harris, etc all over 15 years. Hall of Fame is 5 year wait
Zero2Cool (20h) : I guess I see players in Packers Hall come way later
beast (21h) : Yeah, usually teams hall of fames are a much lower bar than the NFL
Zero2Cool (21h) : is it uncommon for Hall before Ring?
Zero2Cool (21h) : S Xavier McKinney named first-team All-Pro by NFLPA
beast (23h) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (23h) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (23h) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (23h) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (23h) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (23h) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (8-Jan) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (8-Jan) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : McCarthy let go or not extended??
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Chicago Bears have asked the Dallas Cowboys permission to interview Mike McCarthy for head coaching vacancy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : The winners page that is
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : I was not hoping for that. It messes up the page lol

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : That might be it for the Vikings
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Oh so the refs do know what intentional grounding is
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : didn't have guys in his face ... pressure makes difference
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : BALL DON'T LIE
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : how was that not a safety? Goff throws it at an offensive lineman
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero I looked through earlier and noticed the same thing. Bonkers year. I just wonder if beast put any money on games
