Couldn't watch the game until the end when the Arizona-St Louis game ended but read that Bush played over House on defense?

Wow.

I am shocked by some of the negativity.

We played one of the best teams in the league and should have/could have won the game. Our own miscues lost the game (turnovers, offensive penalties, CM3's penalty, boneheaded returns from the end zone).

We had lousy field position all night, starting at/behind the 20 most of the evening. Our D did a good job stuffing the run, shutting down the read option, and containing Krapernick.

Yeah, the D left too many guys wide open down the middle of the field (and that's a consistent problem with Capers' defense--so I'm thinking that's a scheme issue), but even with that we almost beat the 49ers.

I was highly encouraged by the performance in the first game of the season--the penalties & boneheaded returns can be addressed.

Rodgers led fast-paced touchdown drives of 6 plays, 80 yards (1:47); 8 plays, 62 yards (1:16); 7 plays, 69 yards (2:48) and 8 plays, 76 yards (2:30).

Because it's more important to rack up stats than it is to keep the other team off the field, or rest your defense. If Kaepernick had 1/3 fewer plays, he'd only have had about 264 yards passing. I think we win.

We also saw what happened when the defense gets worn down in the 4th quarter.

It was a perfect loss. I could not be more pleased.

Todays loss will result in a 14 -2 season.

Now.. If the Packers won big today.. It would have resulted in a 10 - 6 season.

The best thing that could have happened to this team is to lose on week one the way they did today.

Think about it, and think deep.

I wish they would of put Tramon on Bolden. Shields is fast and a good cover guy, but he's gonna get out toughed by players like him. We missed Burnett a lot today. We need guys who can cover TEs. Jennings and McMillian is simply to small to cover Davis. I really wanted some emphasis this offseason to really work on that safety position.. Obviously not focusing on that position is showing it's effects now.

I think the 49ers surely had the right idea to play us today. We wanted to play heavy run, and play tons of Zone. So Kaepernick couldn't run free. They played opposite of what we thought they would try to do. Recievers had free releases ALL day. Didn't even feel like we blitzed a lot today either. Honestly if he's gonna beat us with a 4 man rush. Why not send more guys and press the recievers more. We played them better than we did in the playoffs, but like I said they just went in another direction that we wanted to attack them with.

If we play them in the playoffs we need to get physical with their recievers or else we'll lose to them 4 times in a row. I think this might be the last year dom is our cordinater despite the results of this season.

I like how Lacy and Finley came back after their rough start in the beginning. Lacy just looks so much more dynamic than the backs we've had here in the past. Bakhtiari played pretty well and played the best he could against Smith(Aldon). I was really cringing on the 3 big runs that came back because of Holding calls.. Sheesh that is bad luck on that part. Aaron just played lights out... He is just so damn consistant year to year. Nelson and Cobb also just played lights out coming off of injuries. AMAZING CATCHS by both of them Especially Nelson's sideline catches. wow... Those guys caught everything that came their way. Absorbed big hits and still held onto the ball. I don't think this offense will miss a beat this season again.

The only question marks is our PASS defense and our special teams. Mainly returning kicks and punts. I'm not as concerned with our Offensive line surprisingly because it won't get worse than what we have. I believe Bakhitari and having Sitton on that side will be better than last years Newhouse and Lang Combo. I think we should try someone else on KR other than Ross. That or he needs to be a better decision maker in that endzone. Defiantly not as dynamic as Cobb is. Hell try Hyde back there. I thought we were using him in that role. Well punts, but I bet he'd do a decent job returning kicks.

Martha Careful (12-Feb) : I would love to have them both, esp. Crosby, but either might be too expensive.

Mucky Tundra (11-Feb) : Yeah where did it go?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : or did you resctrict access to that topic?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : why did you remove the Playoff topic?

Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Funny observation I've heard: Carson Wentz was on the sideline for both Eagles Super Bowl wins w/guys supposed to be his back up winning
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : pro bowl
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : From 2010 to 2022, it was played on the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : They moved it to the BYE week before Super Bowl several years ago.
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : it was always after the SB.....

packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (10-Feb) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (10-Feb) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (10-Feb) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : another crap halftime show
