It is no different than some of the defenseless receiver bullshit, the receivers move and when you are approaching to deliver the hit, you just can't always adjust.

But when you look at the situation. Perry is approaching Luck. Luck's body is angled away from Perry so he is not hitting his square from the front or the side. It is a front quarter angle (when shooting a deer). In that situation, To properly hit Luck, You would try to hit him in the bicep/elbo area with your head to Luck's front. Exactly what Nick did.
