I am positive the NFL Regular Officials (Every damn one of them) watched the game in Seattle.

I am positive they knew the Packers' were robbed of a "W"

My gut tells me that the regular officials will be very understanding and some what partial to the Packers for the rest of the season when it comes to the boarder line calls, and if that flag will fly or not fly.

I can see the regular officiating game day crews that the Packers draw might have a little soft spot in their hearts for the Packers.

It would not be a conscious effort to rectify the wrong, but unconsciously, calls might just go the Packers way?

Your thoughts?

Little anxious to see if the "Real" officials go back to favoring offense. While the replacements were not very good. At least they brought football back to football. Hopefully it doesn't go back to a glorified Pro-bowl QB challenge.

I sure hope the refs don't favor any team, including the Packers.

If the Packers get Mike Carey's crew, they'll be fine.

If they get Jeff Triplette crew, they'll be screwed.

This week's games will likely be better officiated than usual.

But next week will see NFL officiating fall back to its general level of mediocrity.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Although, they ought to be grateful. We were the unwilling catalyst that got them back on the field.

Replacement, Official ... I don't give a damn what referee's are out there. I just want a CONSISTENT game to be called. That's it.

no they won't. They take pride in making the "right" call as they see it. even if the fans don't agree. They know that they make mistakes. Everyone does. But to try and give the benefit of the doubt to GB won't happen. the game is too fast to see a play, recognize there is a foul, decide if they need to call it then factor in some "GB compensation quotient".

This reminds me of the old AL umpire, Ron Luciano. If you recall, and I am sure our younger posters have never heard of him, he was the screw up ump that would eat hot dogs during the game. He would get into long arguments with managers all the time. He was fat, slow and not always accurate in his duties.

He wrote a series of tell all books about his life in the AL. They are pretty funny.

In one of the books he describe how he was behind home plate calling balls and strikes for a game. First pitch was definitely a strike. He mistakenly called it a ball. He knew it. Everyone knew it but play continued. The batter and pitcher just stared at him, sort of shook their heads and play resumed. He was embarrassed since he knew everyone knew he was wrong. He was still thinking about the first pitch when the second one came in. He wanted to make up for the first pitch so he decided to call it a strike if it was close enough. He got it wrong again. It was another strike which he once again called a ball. He said he was too busy thinking instead of seeing and reacting to the play. He knew he really owed the pitcher a break. No matter where the pitch was he was going to call it a strike. He psyched himself up. He didn't even watch the pitch. As soon as the ball crossed the plate he just up and in a thundering voice said STRIKE ONE! with all the body language he could muster. Right in the middle of all his gyrations he caught sight of the ball sailing over his head to the backstop.

His conclusion is you can't do makeup calls. It only makes matters worse. One mistake is enough.
