Anyone concerned about the change at offensive coordinator? I didn't see much discussion on this when Philbin got picked for the job at Miami. Obviously Philbin did a good job preparing the team last year. I don't know much about Clements but he obviously has done well as QB coach for green bay. I have noticed alot of fumbles in the running game during the preseason. Maybe this is partly due to less emphasis on ball control in the running game.

And here I thought McCarthey was the offensive guru - same situation as Holmgren/Sherm Lewis.

No concern about Clements taking hold of the OC.. he is calling plays tonight, but normally that is MM calling the plays.

He has multiple years in this offense... and with Aaron.. Clements will be fine.

Tom Clements is a rising star. He'll be a future head coach someday in either college or pros. Personally, I wouldn't mind him succeeding Mike McCarthy, but I don't think he'll hang around long enough.

To be honest, I don't know how much he'd do. 🇲🇲 calls the plays anyways and sometimes 🇦🇷 overrides, depending on what he sees on the field.

We could probably have Emma Stone calling the plays and it won't make much difference.

I can recall the days under Favre where I was screaming that we needed a new OC to get the offense working. Now in hindsight I realize that the offensive issues may be related to the QB. I bring this up as a contrast point with AR who I think is smarter and more of a team player. I think AR takes ownership of the plan that the coaches provide and makes it work. I will be watching to see if how this pans out with Clements as OC.

I always thought Philbin was OK, but nothing special and was surprised he got a head coaching job. He may prove me wrong. I think Clements will be even better. We'll see.

I have a lot of confidence in Tom Clements. He is a very intelligent coach, and was a great player in the CFL back in the day. He has done wonders with QBs in his care as a QB coach, so it really is time he got an OC job. As far as I can tell, this guy is on the upward swing coaching wise, so we are actually lucky to still have the guy.

Van Pelt is a former QB that was coached by MM in college and for a season in the pros. Then a lot term back-up for the Bills in 94 to 03.

Then became an NFL coach and coached the Bills mostly

Frankfurt Galaxy (2005)(Quarterbacks coach)

Buffalo Bills (2006–2007)(Offensive quality control coach)

Buffalo Bills (2008)(Quarterbacks coach)

Buffalo Bills (2009)(Offensive coordinator/Quarterbacks coach)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2010–2011)(Quarterbacks coach)

Green Bay Packers (2012–Present)(Running Backs coach)
