With the depleted linebacking corps (no Clay Matthews or Brad Jones Sunday) becoming even thinner after the injuries of Andy Mulumba, it appears the Packers are going to drastic measures for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Packer Report says that the team had to move practice squad tight end Jake Stoneburner at linebacker.

The team's only healthy outside linebackers are Mike Neal, Nick Perry (slated to start) and Nate Palmer.

maybe he thinks that since a LB usually covers a TE - that a TE would be a good job for covering a TE? ...

be interesting to see how it works out

What's the big deal? The guy isn't going to be playing in any real games and they need bodies for LB at practice.

Yeah, it's like when Aaron plays safety for the scout team in practice or something. It's not an actual roster move.

I thought this was gonna be about Ryan Taylor, who has some history as a Linebacker. Does Stoneburner have that? And what happened to Mulumba - one of my favorite newcomers? I hadn't heard of any injury to him?

I really think the move would have more to do with ST, than LBer. Defensively I would expect us to resemble a 4-3 more now. Raji, Pickett, Jolly rotation at interior DT and Neal, Jones, Daniels rotating at DE

I concur.. the Packers rely heavily on the backers/tight ends in the special teams packages.. as long as we don't suffer a couple more dings in the game.. I see this only impacting those special team packages and lessening the risk on any of our guys that need to be leaned on for the defensive package.
