Still waiting for some definite news on Cobb's situation. This article mentions the concern about having him return kicks given the evidence of his playmaking ability. green-bay-packers-randall-cobbs-injury-not-believedI have to admit that Cobb showed his smartness with picking up the ball half in/half out of bounds. Maybe Ross can make up for his drop during that disaster trick play and take over as a star returner. |

I would like Boykin in that role. Hopefully this was just a sprain.

Ross looks like the ideal type of candidate. Not real long in length.. quick in the short area and not counted on in the offense nor defense currently. |

Doesn't look like they will switch anything up. Source: PFT Mike McCarthy wrote: I’ll be honest with you: I don’t have a really high tolerance for this because I don’t understand how you play scared in the game of football. I don’t get that,” McCarthy said. “I think it’s convenient questioning. I understand the risk involved in every single play. Some plays are higher risk than others, and I’m fully aware of that.
“But you can’t sit here and say special teams is important if you don’t put a guy like Randall Cobb out there as a returner. Now, if we’re sitting here next year, we might be having a different conversation. But the way our team is built for 2012, Randall Cobb is a huge part of our success on special teams.” Can't really blame him though, taking Cobb off of returns would essentially take away half of his "touches" per game. |

I agree with McCarthy's decision not to change the plan this late in the season, but if we lose Jennings to free agency then I'd prefer Cobb be taken off special teams altogether. Ross looked good on his long return (albeit with the help of some great blocking). I have a feeling Harris would be good back there too. |

Remember when Tramon Williams was our punt returner?
Glad they took HIM off. Way too valuable. |

I still haven't heard how Cobb is doing. Anyone here see anything about him? |

McCarthy also said Cobb’s dealing with a knee injury, which could make it likelier that the team decides to hold him back until the playoffs. |

I have a feeling Cobb will sit outv. MIN, giving Jennings some time in the slot to reconnect with Rodgers, and Ross an opportunity to show what he can do in the return game. Cobb's injury makes the decision easy for McCarthy.

Yep, gotta hold Cobb out of this one. Now it makes this a fair match up since the Vikings don't have Percy. Let's see how we do. :)

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be :) |
