Props to wpr and ironman for admitting they were "less right than normal." I was close to calling for McCarthy's head, really close. I wanted to see what he'd do with the rest of the season but basically wanted nothing short of 6-2 or 7-1 for me to want to retain him. And I was not confident that would happen. Well, it did and I couldn't be any happier. Let's go Pack and here's to RaiderPride being the most right out of all of us.

I'll definitely give Mike McCarthy credit as well. I wasn't calling for his head immediately, but I did say that if he doesn't turn this team around and make the playoffs then it is time for him to go. As it turns out, he did just that and this team is looking better then ever. Mike proved himself, and has bought himself more time for sure. Good job dude!

As for Ted Thompson, while not perfect, I never doubted him. He may not be perfect, but I guarantee there are several teams who would love to have him. Move on along haters.

My opinion of McCarthy has not changed. I think he is a decent coach but to often lets the other team dictate to him. He get conservative to soon and one dimensional often. Games like Dallas in 07, both MN games this year and others have created my opinion of the coach.

We could do a lot worse and we could do better. I am praying for better. Be that from McCarthy or some one else.

Under the right circumstances we could win a SB under him though. I won't be barking at the moon for him firing, but I wouldn't be saddened by his firing.

first, WPR, if you have size 14 shoes then DAMN, you must have one ENORMOUS pair of socks!

but as for the topic, though a few beg to differ, I'm still going to pony up to the table and eat my crow.

We can nitpick M M being too conservative and this and that, but other than penalties and 2-3 lackluster performances this year, this team responded to him and played exceptionally hard. From game to game they seem to be able to adjust and correct mistakes, and you are what your record says you are...11-5!

I was never down on McCarthy back when we were in the slumps.

Nor am I that high on McCarthy now when we're in the postseason.

I was down on MM, and I stated that he was going to have to pull the season out of his rear end. He has done so, for the most part. I'd still like to end the Queens' post season.
What I would like to see from Mike McCarthy next year is an offensive line that doesn't take until week 10 before they start showing up. This has been a problem every year of his tenure. It has to stop.
I've supported Ted Thompson this entire time, but I would like to see him get some guys for the offensive line. I would also like to see him get a stud HB.
But overall, I'm not complaining.

A lot of people were getting impatient, including myself.

It was fair to question McCarthy after the loss at Tampa Bay. Had the pressure not been on McCarthy, maybe he doesn't change his style that much. The fact that he's changed his philosophy back to the short passing game, (which in effects setsup the down the field passing game that he loves so much) has been very impressive.

Win or lose, Sunday, McCarthy has done a nice job. If GB can keep everyone intact for another year or two, (lockout pending) the Pack could be on their way to something pretty special.
