this is due to experience understanding the game and building team unity. Why are we still one of the youngest teams in the league? Ted Thompson theory is not working and we all know with FA the young studs will not stick around especially in GB. Ted Thompson is no Wolf by any stretch. Wolk sold Reggie on the idea of coming here, who has Ted Thompson sold on coming here? Oh thats right all of our players are straight out of college. Ted Thompson your experiment of EVERY player needs to be built through the draft is correct. What is our record since Ted Thompson came here and made Favre disappear?

Youngest team is absolutely meaningless. At the start of the season I believe the Packers average age was 25.70 while Indianapolis average age is 25.89. All that matters is whether the players who are starting are doing their jobs not if the 10+ rookies/2nd year players are having a good year on the bench. The Packers starters are not getting their jobs done this year and it has nothing to do with their ages.

So what you're saying is that our draft picks will leave for other teams when they become good, but somehow, big named FAs should sign here? That doesn't make any sense.

Second of all, you can't build a team by FA. How do you think that Patriots became a dynasty? By drafting and filling their needs with FA. They didn't just sign every single player they could find. They wheren't the oldest team in the league when they won their first SB.

You're right about not using FA enough, but that has been said so often, it's nearly getting boring by now.

packer98, back up your argument with real numbers. The Packers' starting squad is one of the oldest in the league. You can't evaluate this team based on its third-string players.

I'd like to see a little more balance between the draft and finding guys in FA. FA isn't a cure all though. Look at the Redskins over the last few years...

Pickett, Woodson, Grant, Chillar, and this year he brought back Green and Tauscher.

Remember the gigantic salary cap Sherman left us with? You can thank Ted Thompson for getting that under control

TT's record is 35 - 37 since he got here Ted Thompson made Favray disappear? That's the funniest thing I've read in along time. Since we can give someone an applaud point on this forum for saying something good, we should also be able to take one away.
