I disagree with the notion.. at the time I think it was the proper thing to do on both accounts.

The Packers put forth an effort to resign him, albeit in a short term sense for protection from declining production.

Green was offered a long term lucrative deal with cash up front.. logic says at his age, it was going to be his last "big" payday.. you take it if it wasn't close to "our" teams offer. It wasn't.. he made the right choice.

It saved the Packers wasting cash on a player that wasn't available all that often.. and in the end, he is back trying to help the team at a friendly salary.

I'd have signed the contract myself. I couldn't pass up millions of dollars like that.

Here is the newsworthy thing, for me.

I think he's still got it.

Interesting... I think so too.

Ahman in his first interview back spoke about having 4.1-40/yd dash in his prime. He said he was a step slower, about 4.4 in the 40 now-a-days.

Still pretty impressive.

Maybe Ahman wanted his diamond-encrusted Pombron SUV with the whale pecker seats option before the environmentalists could get their meaty (less) paws into the issue. 15% of a lot is a lot.

...and the two bottles of vodka are worth more than the vehicle itself...really

Oh, man, would I love to have the following conversation at a faculty meeting:

Pompous PC colleague: Gee, Wade, that isn't a very eco-friendly SUV. You should have got a hybrid instead.

Wade: Yeah, I know. But I just had to have the whale pecker upholstery, and none of the damn hybrids offer it.

LOL

I cannot tell you how much that resonates with me, lol

The bitch is that I am quite sure that if my uncle were alive today, the very first topic of conversation that I would interject would be my contemplation of the purchase of the SUV with the whale pecker seats.

It's how I roll... lol lol lol

I will give the old pinko credit though...We had an extremely heated argument once about the whole global warming whine he had going. Not especially unique or profound amongst that crowd, on first blush. Here is the impressive part, though. I happened to be recovering (physically) from a certain dust up with a Mr. Pol Pot, and was a little antsy (more than slight understatement) that this was not a priority with him... Talk about ahead of his time, EVERYONE in that crowd was doing global COOLING...except him and a couple of his fellow whack-cognoscenti.<----------- Not an overstatement, or a political one....The year was 1975, not 2009.

I think he looked like the best RB on the roster last week. Really surprised me.

Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
